My last flight oversees we took some turbulence but it was like nothing I’ve experienced it felt like we were being tossed around like a plastic toy. I became convinced it was the end, the plane was going down and it wasn’t being announced to avoid panic. Obviously we made it but I put this song on when we landed.

Really excellent performance! Thanks for sharing.
Agreed. Great chemistry there. Of course Costello is married to Krall. The way those three play off each other is just amazing chemistry. I always liked Costello but it seems in his partnerships something special happens. When McCartney and Costello got together for flowers in the dirt and various projects “that day is done” was released. He got together performed it with the Fairfield four and took the song to another level. My mother always liked it seemed the perfect song to play at her passing.

Costellos work on the basement tapes “part 2” was stunning as well. Briefly I had a friend in England who did a kickstarter run book on musicians during Covid, he said Costello was the most accessible, pleasant and down to earth guy he interviewed during the project. I can see that, like I wasn’t surprised when he told me that.

Speaking of the basement tapes which Costello was very active in although Tbone Burnett produced this song always got me. If you have the time watch to the end and see the emotion Mumford but in this song that Bob Dylan left on the cutting floor. Dylan’s throw away songs are better than many others top hits. I guess that’s subjective
