What do you think of the five you have showing might be your favorite. I might go with rubber soul as it marked the change from “thank you” to all the fans to getting crafty with lyrics, not that the others aren’t a craft alone. Always hard to pick a favorite from the best bands as each album has something for a particular day or mood.

Like Lennon and McCartney (or XTC's Partridge and Moulding), Squeeze's Difford and Tilbrook are among the most masterful of pop songwriters. I had the good fortune to see Squeeze on the 1980 ArgyBargy tour; my shins were bruised from being right upfront against the low stage! I aaw them again in 1994, and later, in an incredible stroke of luck, there they were in NYC's Bryant Park in the summer of 2010.

Saw them in NY myself 2010 no doubt excellent lyricists
