I'll never stop playing, I reckon. While I like to blame my snare and cymbals for my crap hearing, the true villains are guitarists with Hiwatts. ::rimshot::

"The place is really jumping to the Hiwatt amps". Pete Townshend going to a Harley Street ENT specialist for a hearing test. Well tell me what's the result? How long would it take you to learn to lip read?

Hiwatts = Marshalls with more top

I don’t think we can stop. I’m not that great of a musician tbh but I’m lucky to have some buddies who are very good and we get together it’s a no judgement zone but I recently started singing this one with them. My vocal range is pretty limited but they put up with me

Buddy of mine lent me these. I find them compelling. Mrs S, suggests I break out the headphones.

Omg probably the best live version. The version of Samson and Delilah on dead set blows me away as well

Putting aside history the guy had a talent,

I’m a 100% with you on that. I like the old Jackson 5 stuff more Michael Jackson’s stuff just really isn’t in my wheel house of music but the guy was an amazing entertainer and I’ll often leave a song of his on if it comes on just to check it out. I watched a little bit of the documentary made about his last concert and imo he looked in amazing shape with those dance moves. I got over myself a while back and realized just because I don’t like a particular style or musician does not mean it’s bad. He was one of the top sellers of all time for a reason you gotta respect that, he brought stadiums into frenzies. That’s not something a lot of people can do.

Oh that looks interesting if you don’t mind me asking are the four guys doing just lights? Or are they doing lights and sound? Just curious how that works looks like a mini mission control

"Robo Spots" remotely operated follow spotlights. Paired up with a operator run conventional spotlight in the arena the robo spot provides backlight or sidelight to the conventionals front light. In the set up shown the operator simply watches his target on the video monitor and keeps the cross hair on their dedicated "target" the guitar player, bass player whatever and follows him by moving the handlebars. In the configuration pictured all functions of the light: colour, iris, intensity, douser, pattern are controlled by the lighting director in the arena at the front of house position. All the operator does in this case is follow the rock star. The system can be configured to allow the operator control of all the above parameters. The system replaces old school truss mounted truss spots where the operator is in the overhead lighting truss over the stage looking down on the stage. A real trip...I did it for years. It's some of the most fun I've ever had with my clothes on. My first truss spot gig was a Michael Jackson show at the old Civic Arena in Pittsburgh (IATSE Local 3) the fall of 80 or spring of 81. Thanks for asking.

have fun
