Currently, a rather fab Scottish band Chvrches playing "Leave A Trace" - 21st Century synth-pop that brings me back to the 80's synth pop of my youth...

That one's quite the earworm, it's been in my head for a few weeks! 馃槈

Another favorite Scottish pop band these days is Prides, and this video gets extra points for vintage Alfa content 馃榾

Saw these guys last week when they were the first opening act - never heard them before but they were great...Poor Young Things from Toronto...

The second opening act was okay, but not a band I would follow...and then the main act was a band we saw this summer - The Glorious Sons...they are fantastic live...

So have been listening to both these bands quite a bit since then.

I found my favorite band when they were the second opener for another group I went to see a few years back - Panama Wedding. They just released their second EP last week, and similarly I find that they're even better live than in the studio. Got tickets to see them the week after Thanksgiving here, which I hope I'm not too sluggish to enjoy fully! 馃榾

Recordings from the mid-late '60s. Yes, the CSO was still great between Reiner and Solti. Martinon should have stayed here, but he was hounded out by the press (esp. vile and power-mad Claudia Cassidy).
