Some say my taste music is "questionable", personally I just like to think of it as eclectic. This evening I'm in the mood for some....

I forgot to mention that the Sony amp is also in use. I have speakers in the kitchen, dining room and living room all of which may be powered by the record deck, CD player, DVD player or TV. A total of 11 speaker enclosures with 3 separate amps. It's amazing how stuff accumulates throughout 45 years.

Santana. Caravanserai. Vinyl 33. On my old 70's deck and amp. Far better tone than CD.
Is that a Dual turntable? I had an old one that I thought was great

It's a Garrad SP25 mk2. Stored for 20- odd years then back to functioning without hesitation!

Hawley, Coles Corner. One of my wife's favourite artists. Took an age to find on vinyl so also put it on tape, for use after a few jars...

Just watched a TV documentary about Otis Redding. Awesome.
Then I googled someone that was mentioned who I had never heard of.
Solomon Burke. Double f-c-ing awesome.

Went to a music festival this weekend, first year for this one and although they need to work on their organization and venue, it was pretty good all things considered. http://wtfest.ca/

I'm always on the lookout for new bands, and there were two I'd never seen that I liked very much. Bought the CD these guys had at the merchandise tent:

The headline acts came on much later, and we didn't even stay for those - 90 minute gap between the last small band and the big bands was just too long when it was hot, humid, and there was no where to sit, and the food options were all deep fried crap (not good for me considering heart issues). I've seen some of them before so neither my wife or I were too interested in hanging around that long. The day started an hour late so we had been standing around forever (it seemed like) before the bands started since they didn't notify people of the change...like I said some organizational challenges will hopefully be sorted out if they do this again next year.

We really wanted to see one specific band - The Mohrs. They were great - here is one song I recorded in full:

Only complaint is that their set was too short! The whole band came back to the merch tent after, so we talked with them all. Good kids all around, and I hope they will go places.

Next up on the concert calendar is Rush - looking forward to that for sure!
