Have a great weekend
Always nice to have a little dash of scotch with your ice 😲

In his defense it’s a 54.9% cask proof.

Although for such a nice dram your killing a lot of flavor and muting the oils pretty badly dropping the temp that much and the dilution. Your glass destroys the nose something pretty important to Scotch.

Then again Jim McEwan has told me personally “there is no way to Drink scotch correctly and every way is ok.” When I asked him how he drank it, he responded “the only correct way of course with a bit of branch(water) if it needs it”

Oh true

Over the Christmas holiday we cracked open (and subsequently finished) a 60% cask strength American single malt, it was pretty difficult to get through without some ice as well. Still, not that much ice

My Brother-in-law and my best friend for about 45 years gave me this for Christmas, a fine 18 yr. old rum.
I'm having a squabble with his Sister, so I'm breaking it out.

He's fought ALS for 4 years now and it's taken it's toll.

A Jesuit Seminarian but the finest warrior I've ever known....

2 pictures, one of him in his wheel chair, laid back for the Eclipse, a fine tequila at hand.
Pardon the editing, my muleage was showing.

The second, a picture of his gift to me or should I say, one of his many gifts to me.

I love him so.

+1. If I could find it near me it would be in my regular rotation.

Kids in bed, it's wine o'clock... this is a delicious Bordeaux style red Lebanese wine, made by a Frenchman...

After dinner it will be followed by, one maybe two or possibly three of these...
