Botanist G&T with freash Basel flowers, and a smack of Basel. About 3/1 Fever Tree quinine tonic to Gin.

In a stemless wine glass to capture the nose from the Basel.

Super affordable Armagnac for post dinner pairing well with salted caramels.

This stuff is still nice at twice the price.

Ever wanted to know the difference between Armagnac and Cognac?

Both are French brandies made from white wine with their own DOC’s. Different regions and different still types. Armagnac tends to be drier and nuttier.

Pro tip the Champaign region DOC for Cognac is not exactly the same as for the sparkling wine.

Foo gifting tip.. I prefer calvados over all French spirits.

Are you recycling Keurig pods to grow herbs in the background?

No it’s another system. These where 60% off awhile back so I got one for Foogirl.

Neat system not huge. Even with the discount not exactly cost effective. But it is currently keeping me in Mint, Cilantro, 2 types of Basel, and lavender for cooking or cocktails.

Either you or your phone seems to be quite a bit excited about the upcoming basilworld releases 😉

Cracking a new bottle:

After sampling a few sips (OK more than few) some random thoughts occurred to me:

1. This will pair well with Scharffen Berger Dark Chocolate. either the 62% or the 70%.
2. The bottle cost more than the watch.
3. I need more bottles of this stuff. It's superb.

In his defense it’s a 54.9% cask proof.

Although for such a nice dram your killing a lot of flavor and muting the oils pretty badly dropping the temp that much and the dilution. Your glass destroys the nose something pretty important to Scotch.

Then again Jim McEwan has told me personally “there is no way to Drink scotch correctly and every way is ok.” When I asked him how he drank it, he responded “the only correct way of course with a bit of branch(water) if it needs it”
If u live where it is usually close to 30 degree c, a big round ice doesn’t hurt. I understand the best way according to expert is a few drops of water but I am just too uncivil for the method 😜

Just finished a bottle of that last weekend. Can't say it was my favorite but I grew to like it during its stay

Hmm I wonder if you had an off bottle. I think it’s quite good for the price point.

Probably just personal preference. I'm only barely past the surface in terms of scotch but so far I think I like smoother bottles rather than peaty stuff, at least at the 10-12yr mark. I felt fairly similarly about the Laphroaig 15

The wife and I drank this tonight after the kids had fallen to sleep. Fantastic champagne! Probably one of the most intense I have ever had.

I've had the Baby Blue - a very good bottle. What did you think of the Centered cab?
