Mourning my last drop of a very moreish 10 year old / 40 year old 1980s Glenmorangie. Very subtle compared to the modern version. A 6% victory ale is helping me get over it :0) .
Picked this up on a whim. I really like it. Different then a US or UK IPA. It’s clean like an original IPA, but hopped to the level of a California IPA.
I thought I would experiment today - Badger Beer - the Cranborne Poacher - described as rich and fruity (I like ruby ale) and a respectable 5.7%.... but far too fruity for me. It reminds me of a raspberry and white chocolate bar I had once... which took me rapidly back to 90% Lindt dark.... so not a hit for me.... but one mans meat is another's poison and all that.. cheers on a Sunday everyone.
You're not alone...! Saving a bottle of Graham's 1980 that I was given for Christmas - that will be a treat. Generally imo you can't go wrong with Graham's - especially the late bottled vintage..
Lion’s Head is one of my favorite late-afternoon/evening hikes in the Mother City. It’s just across the city bowl from my office.
I haven't looked at this thread in 2 weeks... It pains me :-( I hope you have still plenty of supply left... Is alcohol sale still forbidden? Oh dear... I hope you mean cocaine and not Coca-Cola! That would be such a pity
Hahaha - I'm afraid I mean the latter - I have a real weakness for good cognac & coca cola, but yes you are quite right...the cognac deserves better...
The truth is i developed a taste for brandy and coke after many holidays to Spain - you could get €3 1 litre bottles of brandy over there back in the day - I was encouraged to drink this by a very good Spanish friend of mine, who subsequently passed away, too young, from liver failure. I made a vow to never drink cheap brandy again...it really isn't worth it...
Do as you please. There are no rules for cognac I enjoy cognac on the rocks. I thought this was an oddity, but have been to several Hennessy tastings and discovered it’s quite common. A good number enjoy with club soda, lime based soda (sprite) or cola. But...when @LesXL is over, we will make his pour straight up
