Wasn't today, but had a 2 oz pour of this a while back. It was tasty. If I got another 2 oz, I would have finished the bottle at the restaurant and they give you the bottle. Turns out it sells for $400 on Ebay (the empty bottle).
Interesting stuff. I’ve had it a few times. 2oz is not a bad price. Super complex and worth it’s price... but the High end Frapin is better but not as complex at 1/3 the price.
I was on the Celebrity Reflection ship last month and they had the Louis XIII for $3,000 in the onboard shop. I asked if they sold many and he said about 3 over the last year, all Asians.
baijiu!!!! I had some rice based baijiu in Portland at http://vinndistillery.com/ Interesting process, and normally never made with rice in China. The Portland stuff was amazing.
My Japanese mother in law got me this black label for my birthday today. I pulled some of my other bottles I have received from her side. These whiskies are serious guys, I’ll put them up to anything from other countries.
It’s 25-60%. Normally made from fermented sorghum. Tastes of the base grain and notes from the fermentation. Generally a thicker mouthfeel then vodka. Vodka generally doesn’t get notes of fermentation. Neat stuff, a little different then what you normally get from the West.
not by the technical definition of cask strength, typically in the range of 58–66% ABV..but I'm not complaining about that
T.b.h. i'm not a great beer drinker but spotted this today so that I would give it a try. Some how I suspect it may be a great drain cleaner
