Scotch collection is in a good place, so now I’m working on my bourbon stash. A couple new bottles and a pour of Elmer T Lee:
Royal salute 21, apologies for the crappy camera skills, I was already a few glasses down when I took the pic haha. Have a great day folks!
A Stallhagen Pale Ale..... Needed to be careful not to tip the glass with the weight of the Big Blue.
I used to be content with mid priced bourbons, then I found this thread and read @Foo2rama @alam @Jking etc opinions of single malts. About 2 months later here I am a Scotch lover. A pic of my age statements and the last is a few duplicates and a poor from my fav of the lot, Balvanie 17. I have several nice nas bottles as well, but I think this is enough lol.
Caol Ila Distiller's edition, finished in Moscatel casks. Distilled in 1993, bottled in 2006, bought by me in 2007, and opened last night... Wasn't sure what to expect with such a sweet finish on a peaty, smoky, and salty whisky. The peat and smoke are still there, and a hint of that brine flavor that I love, but somewhat tempered by the sweetness. Maybe some complexity lost off both sides with this, but overall I enjoyed it. If anyone else has had this, I would be interested in your take on it... Cheers, Al
The perfect amount of smoke and peat, without the spicy nastiness you get with an Ardbeg. Really looking forward to trying the other Port Charlotte bottles once I finish this one!
@Larry S I’m having the same, just took the pic. This isn’t paring with dinner, but will be my nightly drink after.
