So a couple of weeks ago a mate of mine lost a pair of Oakley sunglasses whilst on holiday. As I have more pairs of Oakleys than I can shake a stick at, I offered to sell him a pair of "Ducati Fives Squared" (as I knew he was into motorbikes). Now I hate taking money off him so I offered to swap them for a bottle of Lagavulin 16yr old. A fair swap methinks. However he decides I'm being too generous and purchases a bottle of the below instead. I've been on-call ever since I received it, so tonight is the first time I've had the chance to sample it. I think I got the better end of the deal! 馃榾 (Pictured with my current fave daily beater)

Break time on my 25k hike today; I'm pretty sure no one else on the trail has one of these in their backpack. It's a long weekend in Canada (Victoria Day weekend). It would be rude not to celebrate!

Today I will mostly be drinking Montes Alpha Carmenere. I will decant it into a carafe we bought when travelling on the Orient Express. I realise it's meant for water but it brings back great memories of our honeymoon.
(Don't you just love it when a wine comes in its own wrapping paper?)

So is that Barn One or Bar None? Could be either since you stated it was brewed in a barn.
I think that is the idea they were going for.

Long weekend here in Canada this past weekend, so lazy afternoons on the deck with beer and snacks...

The beer hiding in my "stubby holder" as my wife calls them, is 312...a nice wheat beer for those warmer days:

My wife travels to Michigan often, and she brings back beer (when she is not bringing back Scotch or Cognac or something else for me) and this one is one we both like quite a lot. The other one we get often is Oberon - another wheat beer only made in warmer months, and one I first had on Mackinac Island several years ago when we were there for the Lilac festival...and with that segue my darker lilacs are fully flowering finally, and they smell fantastic!

The lighter ones flower a bit later in the summer, but I don't see many buds on them this year...too much shade I think.

Cheers, Al
