Btw... what do you compare the king Alexandre too? I’ve found a bottle for $170 I’m thinking of picking up.

That’s a good price! Around here, after tax, it’s close to 300. I don’t have anything that compares, it’s the most complex yet smooth and easy drinking bottle I have. You can hold it in your mouth and discover a lot of rich flavor. It’s not a sherry bomb, but it is a flavor bomb. Even those who may like a heavy and peaty Islay I don’t think would find it boring. I certainly think you would enjoy it. King Alex is only for the end of an especially long or difficult day for me as it’s costly. You’ll see, I have no doubt, it’s fantastic.

Nothing fancy, just a nice cold beer on a hot summer day.

@Foo2rama I’m on it, thx for the link. I ghetto used a knife as an ice pick. Worked but not as good as I’d like.

No pictures...

Started with 1st run Amrut Fusion... my god best Scotch on the planet... except it’s an Indian Whisky.

Nice Pinot Noir from Napa

Some Crema Mezcal drizzled over berries. Crema is a Mezcal with 10% Agave syrup added to it so it’s smokey and sweet.

Then a little Vago Elote Mezcal. 100% Espadin Mezcal then soaked with roasted corn for a week then re distilled. Yummy Smokey goodness.

You didn’t ask me, but I’ll play anyway lol. I haven’t developed a taste for Islays. Bruichladdich Octomore (I think it was a 5 yr), is a peat bomb of enormous proportions and the worst pour I’ve ever had.

Lol Octomore is the most heavily peated Scotch on the planet. I own a few bottles some in investment storage. Some are better then others but peat as measured by Parts per million it blows away everything else. Some are an acquired taste... some though like 3.3? The saturne cask variant are life changing.

@Foo2rama lol, I had no idea how it’s measured. I can’t see myself ever developing the taste for it. I hope to one day though, just to enjoy different types. For now, I’d describe it as an ash tray mixed with horseraddish.

Last night...had friends over for a BBQ. Few Newcastle brown ales, couple of Laphroaig 30YO, then got into the absinthe...

Surprisingly, feel fine this morning. 👍

Couple of shots or couple of bottles...? 😀

I went onboard in this on Saturday at a party. The next day someone said I had drunk directly from the bottle towards the end. I don’t remember that so it cannot have happened 😵‍💫

Well, the 30YO is a little expensive to down a couple of bottles in one night, and since the absinthe is 62% alcohol, I wouldn't be typing this if I had a couple of bottles...

I actually remember everything I did last night...😀
