That moment when you realize have an Uigeadail sitting in your must drink pile... notice the dust... I have issues.

Islay plus sweet sherry wine barrels... sign me up.
Smokey peat plus sweetness from great sherry barrels... I’m in heaven.

@Foo2rama just say no to peat. :whipped: I could drink that if it was 9.9 parts drambui and .1 part scotch lol.

For me tonight, one of my top three fav bottles, RB Lustau.

That stuff almost put me off scotch entirely.... one of the worst things I've ever drank

I went looking for a Takisker 20 Scotch during my break, but nothing in stock. Wellers wheated being put out though so I grabbed a bottle of each. Around here, this is harder to find than Blantons. It’s a pretty nice score for me. Wheated is the best.

An old fashioned tonight.

A sweet, smokey and smooth scotch with a sherry-like flavours. Pretty nice for a cocktail.

Clearing out some back log. A Balvenie single barrel first fill... not much to say, and a single barrel Buffalo Trace that I had forgotten about. Oddly the Balvanie was first fill in Buffalo Trace barrels. Odd coincidence.

Not so odd. It’s very intentional actually. The trade in barrel staves really is quite amazing. It’s also key to master distillers getting the flavors they are looking for.

The more I get into Scotch, the more bourbon a bit boring.

First world problems! 😁 So much whiskey, so little time.

It’s very common esp with the rise of Bourbon and the requirement for single use, leading to cheap barrels that are snatched up by the Scottish. Most barrels going over are from Bulliet though. Just neet it was a matching set.

Yup, pads and rotors on all four corners.

What pads did you go with? (My bad for being off-topic)

It's my wife's daily driver, so I use the stock Porsche pads, though I use the "Sport" pads from the Cayman R on the front. I don't bother switching them out for a casual lapping session at our local track, but if I'm going to be doing a full day of HPDE then I have a set of Pagid RS29/RS14s that I'll drop in. Those suckers squeal like a sonofabitch though, so I have to pull them straight back out that night before the missus takes the car again the next day!
