Not sure where you are at but Davidson Liquor in Highlands Ranch Colorado usually has a few of those bottles laying around. For some reason that store just doesn't move any of the Japanese Scotch.

Also here is my contribution...
I’m in New Orleans. It’s like finding a unicorn to get an age stated Japanese whiskey around here.

We’ll need a review J, seems like all the age statement Japanese bottles are rare right now.
It’s very good. Maple syrup immediately on the nose. Literally thought about having pancakes...lol. Has a nice spice up front (I’ve read some say cinnamon but I don’t get that) that I can’t quite place but it’s not heavy. That fades into a nice orangish fruit taste. Finish has no burn at all and lingers in a pleasant way. The closesr scotch it reminds me of is my abelour but it’s definitely a unique experience. You being a fan of the speyside whiskys makes me think you would really enjoy this. But truth be told I’d rather buy another nikka from the barrel...it’s good but not living up to the hype for me. Definitely worth the try though if you can find it.

@Jking thx. Any time I see a scarce bottle, I gotta pick it up. Good review. I think I’ll open that Nikki 21 I found and compare. Whisky from the barrel is still to this day my fav though, it’s amazing at the price point, and I have yet to find something as good at even triple the cost.

Enjoy it bud, may not find it again.

Thanks man I certainly will...and I’m with you on the nikka. It may be my favorite whisky also and at that price it’s a steal.

Well thats too bad. Kind of like getting any of the Buffalo Trace offerings up here, not that I'm overly impressed by them of late. Next time I'm in the neighborhood Ill take a pic of their selection for you if you're interested. Im sure they ship most places.

Last night it was a horribly overpriced Aperol spritzer while watching the quarterfinals of the Rogers Cup tennis...

It wasn't bad - not too sweet, some bitterness but that was quite refreshing...

@allwoundup 👍 cheers! and nice watch!
Now that I am a bit more in focus, the watch I was wearing last night is too. Alas, the martini that the watch and I were accompanying last night is but a fond memory.

Indian whisky

I call it the Perfect example of Scotch, even if it isn’t scotch. At least before it was discontinued for a few years, I’ve not tried the new stuff yet. Wonderful stuff one of my favorites.

Did a bit of a bourbon sampler tonight.

First pour- Col EHT single Barrel
Second - Russells Reserve 6 year old Rye
Third- Weller Special Reserve (wheated).

Think I covered most mashbills tonight!

I’m now considering a scotch but my wife is already looking at me funny so it’s may be quitting time. Lol

What is it with antlers today?

That one gets good reviews. I was going to pick it up as I have one bottle of a similar price point almost drained.

Glad you posted, this thread needs more activity. I’ll post every night but I don’t want to look like a raging alcoholic. Lol

Lol....I don’t drink every night but usually have one or two pours 4-5 nights a week. But yeah I know what you mean!!

And btw this is excellent!! Just found it today and grabbed it for 44.99 which is an excellent price (usually $55-60 from what I’ve read online). It’s from batch 10 (126 Proof) but it doesn’t drink like that high abv at all. The EC12 is 133 by comparison and the heat on that is like a California forest fire compared to this. I poured and let it sit for 5-10 minutes before trying the nose and it was all cherry and cinnamon with no acetone at all. Palate matches the nose with some vanilla underneath. I’m shocked at how smooth this is. Drinks like a standard 100 Proof BIB. Grab a bottle if you can.
