Worst Redials

Good advice, but for the record this still seems to be a redial. To see the lettering at that thickness from such a far away shot seems revealing. I can't imagine it's an original dial. This is how people used to sell vintage watches, recondition them including a redial, add a new strap and a nice box and make it a "like new" package. This doesn't mean your wife won't like it, but it will probably bother you to see her wearing a redialed watch. (All this said based on this single image, close up really needed as you said.)
Oh dear but at least I've not been burnt on an expensive one.... The watch wasn't sold with the case, I bought that separately, so I didn't get done there. The watch is also miniscule, 19mm diameter with a 10mm lug to lug. Once I get home I'll post a macro-shot of the dial - and ask my other questions elsewhere.
*edit, it was sold with a new black strap, and I added the red lizard, so again, the seller didn't try to get me with that.

This could account for the scale of the text, so it's not a said and done deal until we see closer shots. Also nothing wrong with somebody dressing up a watch with a package, even if all non-original, just noting that as something to be aware of. Makes for a nice gift-giving package, just as you did.

Got home from the pub after a particularly heavy session and decided to straighten up the dial on my pie-pan because it was bugging me.

I like how the sub-dial on the top one offer room for growth.
#1 cause of popped crystals, not leaving room for the subdials to expand. 😉

That third one is the first I've seen that was literally done with a sharpie.
