Well @MattF has sourced an original crown and also has a signed crystal I’m thinking about picking up, all for the right price. I’m definitely getting the crown but still deciding on the crystal.

I know some of you said leave it alone, but being able to replace with original signed parts is a huge plus for me. Just thought I’d update!

Oh, wow. I stand corrected about never finding a crown!

Watch came in today, I’ll post better pictures later:

Overall, I’m pleased with the watch. It’s obviously not a “perfect” example some vintage collectors may yearn for, but I’ll be happy wearing this Polerouter without the fear of f****** it up! ::psy::
It is definitely still a nice piece!

Not only that... as I said he had a signed crystal available and I decided to pick it up as well. I threw him a random email last week and he was awesome about setting me up and taking care of my request. They should get here this week!

Thank you! I’m excited about it. I’m getting it to the watchmaker here soon and taking care of her!

Hey y’all,

Here’s an update. I received a UG signed crystal and the correct crown for this reference and had them installed by my watchmaker. Some high-res photos for your enjoyment:

Edit: I want to thank @MattF for making this possible! I don’t have the lens capability to show the signed crystal, but I promise it’s there. Anyone have any tips for lenses to shoot macros of watches?

you can combine a phone camera with an optivisor or similar loup/magnifier to get decent macro shots on the cheap

Just tried it using my darkroom loud. Super cool.
Thank you for the suggestion.

Thanks for the tips! How much do you think would be a good price for it? I paid $680, which I thought was a fair price. I would expect much above that if it was in really good condition. I also wanted an “honest” watch so I wouldn’t be afraid to wear it!

Very nice polerouter at a fair price. Hands are available, just keep an eye out on the Bay ...
