Watches of Knightsbridge just posted a teaser of two watches from their upcoming sale. I haven't seen a thread on this yet but I think it's something well worth discussion. I'll update this post once the actual information comes out.

Looks like 1) a silver dialed Ed White and 2) another straight lug without lume and a dark grey (?) dial:

Would be an impressive find, if considered real.

I'd call it a white dial rather than silver. Rodania did it first...so it's not without precedent.

First one is incredibly interesting. Second one looks like someone used a wood rasp on the lug.

I am a bit shocked that this hasn't made waves here on OF. This would be a major discovery!

The more I look at that teaser for the white dial the more curious I am.

I keep trying to mentally explain the pic has lighting that makes the plots look that way but can't explain the light on the lugs and bezel

The plots are clearly painted black, which would only be done if the dial was white. I don't think it's lighting. And I also don't think WoK would be teasing it like that if it wasn't white.

The weird part to me on that is that they are clearly painted black, and they are aren't flat - they have a bit of 3D to them, like they would if they had lume on them. I mean on a regular dial if the lume is scraped off they are just flat paint, so why do these have texture?

I don't think that's quite right. Look at cal 321 racing dial Speedmasters - the painted portions are also raised.

Interestingly, this WoK specimen has no Professional on the dial. Another clue the dial might be period correct for a straight lug.

Man alive, the auction for that white one might end up like a Bruce Lee vs Mohammad Ali vs Chuck Norris vs Rocky fight ... would love ring side seats to that. But first I wanna see the watch...c'mon WoK, drop it already pweeeeeeeez.

PS: minute markers touch the step (105.002/2998) ... BUT there are baton hands. Usually when things on these don't follow rules, its 'prototype' material...or its a 105.002 😁

Would be interesting to see what the Extract of from Archives would state.

A prototype sounds very promising.

I inverted the colors of that image using an online tool to convince myself that the plots are indeed painted black. I do agree that it's unusual to be teasing like that if it wasn't something truly special.

...and the baton hands appear to be black. Any other vintage Speedies have those?
