::facepalm1:: That just takes the cake.

It would not surprise me to find out that 30% of the high dollar transactions on ebay are money laundering of some sort.

I just came across this on eBay and laughed out loud. Didn't realise it was listed here.

Makes you question whether the whole backstory (both threads) was a preamble to the sales post.

That would certainly explain the over-the-top claims and language from the second thread.

I just reread it and it’s so obviously a sales ad. The whole thing just irritates me

If you’re going to ask $14.5k for an ordinary 145.022-69 without a brown dial you need all the help you can get.

I posted in the original thread and I feel like I got bamboozeled. I wish dealers had a little badge next to their name or something so I could figure out if a post was coming from an enthusiast/collector or a dealer.

I didn’t see this posted already but if it is I apologize.

Good for them if they get this. I think these were $3500 new at Costco last year, right?

European Watch just sold one around this price. The market had shot out of a cannon over the last year. If there are any at retail buy them ASAP

Supposedly 100 of these were made for the SAS in 2012 so it certainly wasn’t an issued piece for all. It’s just an explorer II with a case back engraving. It wasn’t like it saw combat action (only the top 100 SAS members got one? )

Nearly all appear to have gone on sale with aspirations of a ridiculous profit for a six year old engraved watch.

Here’s one for those looking to spend some cash. Keep in mind you’ll have to pay an additional 21% buyers premium

Can't this model of Explorer II be purchased for around $7K USD on the secondary market? So you are paying about $35K for a caseback engraving? Please tell me this thing didn't sell.

So is the dial a complete fake installed in a completely wrong seamaster? Or did someone have the original dial restored? The Omega text is just totally wrong looking at the few examples of that model I could find:
