Hey gang, so I finally caught a hold of a pre-moon Speedmaster. Pretty pleased with this one as its never been serviced and has definitely hardly been worn. Case is razor sharp and the dial and hands are flawless. Great patina too that seems to match well. The kicker is that is has its original flat link bracelet (downside is its missing a single end link). I’m curious to know what the group thinks of it. I know enough to be dangerous but I’m no expert. Has the -69 in the caseback and is a pre-moon seahorse type. I see it has the DON and Dot close to 70 and the É in Tachy. Am I missing anything? Any ideas on the going value of a reference like this? Hard to gauge with the prices everywhere.
Thanks guys. I’ll take some better pics tomorrow that really show off the case sharpness I’m pretty excited!
Lovely watch you got and a nice bracelet with complete 8 fixed links on both ends. Finding one 516 end link shouldn't be an issue. Congrats!
Oh Blimey! I can feel another "horizontal brush mark debate" coming??? Back to the watch in question: I think your Speedmaster is a lovely example.
Honestly no idea what you are referring to. I was referring to the width of the lug shoulders. As I said, great example. But you should be aware of a refinish, that’s all. Doesn’t make it a bad example.
Congratulations. Very nice example. Seems to have the original glas that is a little bit flater at the outside. Did you check the serialnumber?
It would help if you could show us a couple of front on shots of the lugs but I don't think it's been refinished.
