Wishful Thinking - Watches that have unrealistic price expectations

In the terms they state that these watches are shipped from Japan.... maybe a Yen conversion mistake ?
unlikely - the £88,000 top estimate for that black/white Speedmaster would equate to about £400 if it actually meant JPY88,000 ...

I have asked the auctioneer if they've accidentally added a zero to every price since the same watch is available brand new from Omega for £8.7k and their starting price is £22K and that would also attract 20% fees...

A Speedmaster with polar provenance is cool, but the pricing strikes me as a little ambitious.

I think the last one at auction sold for 100-125K and that was back in 2013 when the market was less crazy. Plus you get all of Fred`s wardrobe !
And more serious, if your birthday is 19 -4 1968 you will have a killer birthday watch 😎.

This is a 5th watch apparently as Fratello speaks of just 4 watches, but maybe @Robert-Jan can shine some more light here ?

OK, our friends at HANS Auctioneers have been kicking the can down the road for their watch sale for a while. It finally happened today, and unsurprisingly, their unrealistic expectations - combined with no actual live auctioneer as far as I can see - mean literally nothing is selling.

At time of writing, they're 171 lots in and one single lot has supposedly sold. A ladies Rolex Datejust carrying a modest estimate of £40,000-£80,000 (!) sold for less than a quarter of the low estimate.

And lot 101872, Speedmaster 310.30.42.50.01.004 with an estimate of £12-13,000 (+ fees, obvs) ... a watch with an RRP of £8700 at any OB...

... sat at a current bid of £800 until they passed. What a bunch of jokers.
