But it comes with a box! :-D

And the seller swears it's a good investment. I think his sales pitch deserves recognition for how bad it is. The quote about "Stealth Wealth" is quite something.

$5000 grand for a 14k yellow gold, waffle dial connie with plated bracelet? Maybe I'm out of touch.

I am new in watch collecting, but looking at auction prices for the last years, it seems to me that Constellations prices are going up fast.
@efauser : what would you give for a 14k waffle dial connie without bracelet? In Denmark, it would be offered for sale for > 2500$, I am afraid.

$2500 is a far cry from $5000. I think $2000 is about the max.

For what it's worth, after explaining the issues I saw, I offered $2000 to test the waters. They thanked me for my interest and said they couldn't go that low. No counter offer.

What is your problem - sorry, the market determines the price. You don't have to buy. The number is limited and the demand is increasing!
Best wishes from Switzerland

Oh I think he knows exactly why this thread exists but I suspect he has a vested interest in watch value being high.

Funny, I thought the same thing.

Not a watch, but a set of 861 hands at a premium because they've had the dubious honour of being roasted a little too long.

Perhaps our patina-seeking seller will use the timer next time

Local craigslist - appears to be another one that sees "omega" on the dial and only sees dollar signs. $1500 seems a tad optimistic for this:

If I were into C-cases, I would pay that, as long as it wasn't a cal. 1001.

Would you buy this for 550 bucks?

Wrong thread, mate. It does not look highly overpriced at first sight. If you wanna advice, post it in a new thread with more pictures, all information you have and your concrete questions.

Money laundering in the vintage watch trade? I would have thought that was limited to antiques, porcelains, carpets and gemstones.
