I think this is probably the closest model out there.
I need a black leather strap to make it look more screen accurate.
Any recommendations on the strap?

I 100% agree! At one point I had looked into whether or not a replica could be pieced together using a Khaki Automatic case, and your dial/hands, or something similar to that. I think it might work, but only for the 42mm version. I think the movie version was 38mm, if I remember right, which is far preferable size to me... That was a pretty huge placement for Hamilton, as the watch was pretty much the critical element of the movie. They absolutely should have released that version.

What a movie, too...

They sort of did. Well, they gave some away I think.
There are also people who made their own by taking the watch you have there and putting all the parts in a different Khaki Auto case...or something like that, like mentioned above.

Probably another 42mm so that Hamilton can just be lazy and use/modify existing materials.

Why all this excitement for the Murph watch? Wasn't it just a 3 hander with date in the movie?

FYI, the watch is on their website now (maybe others had already seen but I missed it)... it is 42mm.... bummer.

Basically just because it was a cool looking watch in a cool movie. and it was an integral part of the plot, which represented it's most powerful emotional aspects. So it was just cool to see that actually be represented by a neat watch and a reasonably respected company... but, 4 1/2 years after the initial release date does seem a like an opportunity missed. I doubt theres really all that much excitement from real collectors, but it has mass appeal and think it's kinda cool. Not for anywhere near $1k though... so, whatever.

The actual movie prop sure doesn't look 42mm when compared to the 42mm khaki day date.

Booo-urns... Seems like a missed opportunity, would have had a lot more buzz and interest at 38 or 40 I think. At least from us!

I think it might be 42mm The one on bracelet looks like it's a lot higher and closer to the camera

A lot of people are complaining about the size on Instagram. Hamilton just keeps copying and pasting the same answer claiming the 42 mm case is identical to the one in the movie.

I do thin that 42 mm is too bad. The Khaki Field that I am wearing right now comes in 39 mm or 42 mm, and the 39 mm wears big.

Really like the styling on the "murph" and would consider it if it was 39 mm.

this movie was released in 2014 and had one of the most prominent watches in a movie i can remember. . and they get around to releasing the watch in 2019 ? do they not like. . money ?

at 38mm i might have bought this but 42mm for a time only 3 hander seems bizarre

At the risk of sounding way behind in movie watching, I haven't seen this film, but I love the face and hands of this watch.
