They say in Italy that you can never be overdressed. I think the same holds true for watches. With men's suits slowly returning, a gold watch just fits. Enjoy!
Again ... There is NO law against wearing gold with jeans and a polo. Just made this point with a friend who just landed a RG PP Aqua-Naught and is struggling to find a role for it in his collection.
I agree with this, and with formal wear, which never disappeared completely, to my mind only a thin, elegant gold dress watch will do. I remember (only 20 years ago) when the full retail price of the classic Patek Calatrava dress watch was a mere $11,000. Sigh.
Sometimes I dream of selling my modest collection and buying this, fairly sure my wife would disown me but I’d die a complete man.
Actually, with the passage of time and changing styles, this 36mm watch, which used to be massive, is surprisingly wearable now. In fact, if you mate it with a nice strap, these early 1803's/6611's are impressively understated.

I don’t know about full gold but I love my gold AT on a black croc strap, never had any adverse comments only polite interest! Photo from holiday earlier in the year just before going to a nice restaurant!
