Calling someone a jerk is quite different.

Many of my friends are wankers, but none are jerks.
And of those that are wankers, I’m sure they’re of the redeemable type.

Presumably, there are nuances here that a Yank will never comprehend.

Here is the coffee cup I use at work in NYC (I am a Yank and a Brit). Captures the meaning perfectly I think!

I have seen people selling them online and stating they were "authentic" 😵‍💫

Darn you actually made me look and yes there is at least one site that sells “replica invictas” I can’t post it here but you can search. It’s very strange the replicas seem to be more expensive than the real ones, maybe they are better made

Thanks for the explanation.
Interesting the parallel terminology.
Not sure the parallel is completely perfect. Standard caution - never use foreign slang, even if it looks like your own language, without being 100% certain of your context. Sure, these days you can say what you like around the office as a kind of bonding thing. But in my youth, I've seen serious fighting started by the language in question. Even today, dont ever say this stuff in front of your British friend's mother...

I've learned quite a few new words from this thread but I'm not sure I would want to use them. .. 😀

Invicta was a new one for me, too.

I have a friend / colleague who has a practice of always favoring formality, with a great theory: you will never go wrong by being too polite.

also -

duplicate threads
posting the same questions across multiple sub-forums
sales rules problems
bad behaviour after warnings

generally being a dick & annoying too many people

topics touching on illegality
replica watches
abusive behaviour after having threads deleted or sales ads pulled
spam

... are the most frequent reasons. 🙄

Wait a minute there......

the world is full of annoying dicks, some in positions of authority and power, some in the fantasy world which is the global media, the majority though being dicks just because it is their chosen role in life.

Are we really saying that such people, the dicks of this world, are unwelcome at this forum?

Don't dicks matter?::rimshot::
