Why the strong bidding on this 145.012-67?

Am I missing something here?

This 145.012-67 is reaching dizzy heights, yet the seller (semi) admits the lume has been redone, the dial has significant scratches around the hour markers, presumably from when the old lume was poorly removed, the crown is wrong and the bezel is average at best.

Whys it going so big?

Good case, nice lume patina. Decent bezel matches patina.

A cleaning and it will look stunning. So far the price seems inline.

And it comes with an Extract.

I believe it will look fine on the wrist, but I agree with @Davidt that there are some weak points that I wouldn't want myself.

But the '67 are always sought after and there are not so many better pieces around, especially no cheap ones.

It isn't patina though is it. It's a relume with a damaged dial approaching $8k.

Maybe I'm just way out of touch.

I don’t see either of those issues when I look at all the pictures.

As you said yesterday

You don't think it looks like someone has roughly scratched off the old lume around the hour markers?

I think we'll see this watch again.

IMHO without super macro eyes this is an absolutely wearable watch and even considering the VAP the final price is ok.

When somebody claims "not sure if case has been polished", it is nearly a certainty it was polished.
When sombody claims "not sure if dial relumed", safe bet it was relumed.

I thought the scratches were on the crystal and not on the dial.

Anyway, I saw some recent 321 movement watches ending strongly as well.

First and foremost, this movement was delivered to Portugal according to the EOA. Now tell me, where is the customs hallmark that should be present on the upper left lug?
This is already the point where I don't put efforts in it anymore.

No I think they're on the dial. If they're we're on the crystal the shadow would cast in different locations on the dial when viewed at different angles.

You have a good eye for the detail... 👍

If Salazar was still at power, you would have the best chance of becoming Portugal's customs minister. 😀

For anything 'not sure' on ebay read: 'damn sure'
