I think the vintage bralecet 1266/237 would be a great fit for the latest gen summer blue ploprof. Probably better than the modern mesh.

Got the call the bracelet arrived, went by the local OB. Come to find out there is a small and large mesh bracelet option (in steel) but in the computer system it shows as one bracelet option to order.

There's an extra step which the sales guy didn't realize at the time (guessing not a lot of opportunities to order them on the regular) There are large mesh segments which need to be ordered with the bracelet so it can be swapped to the correct size. He found the larger mesh bracelet parts at another OB and will be getting them shipped.

Not a big deal for myself as I'm about 15-20 minutes away. But for anyone else having to make a longer drive or ordering from an OB and getting it shipped, worth noting.

To add context on size, the small is for wrists smaller than 7 in circumference. Could barely get it closed with the diver's extension open and the clasp adjustment on the widest setting.

Will say It does look really good on the mesh (unfortunately didn't grab a pic, will post some once it's sized correctly, etc) but took a couple of wrist shots while I was thinking about it.

I'm seriously considering adding one of these to my collection for this summer. I have 18.5cm/7.5inch wrists - so I think it'll look okay - but need to try one on in real life before committing.

How do people react to it in person?

Have a 7 in wrist so your 7.5 in wrist will be perfect. Really helped with them going back to the original dimensions, it wears deceiving small lug to lug as the strap goes straight down from the underside. The 15.5 mm thickness is great as well. Besides the 55 mm length, it wears smaller than the PO.

Reactions are more like an experience with the Ploprof. People almost become like kids experiencing something new with curiosity, questions, and amazement.

The dial color, the shape, the bezel, the release button, the crown, the shape, the weight, the monobloc design. It's like they got transported back to the 70s and are confused, intrigued, and in awe of how unique a watch it is. It's a true tool watch in a sea of "other" watches.

Ran across people who knew of the Ploprof but never seen one in the wild, those who have no idea what it is but love the dial, some realize when mentioning Jacques Cousteau as his diving watch.

It's the first watch I've had which intrigues people like no other. Those who ask about it are genuinely curious about it.

Not sure about others but this has been my experiences so far, can't wait for the summer where it will really shine.

The summer blue wears extremely comfortable. Light and soft on the wrist. I wore one when visiting the Omega boutique with two friends.

The store manager filled a plateau full of watches for us to admire. The summer blue was the one I liked the most.

I've got a 6.5" or so wrist. The short lugs make it feel way smaller on the wrist than I would think. It's large looking, but no worse than many other watches folks wear, it looks small for an Invicta or Paneri 😀

I put it on in my OB a while back, I don't quite have the confidence to pull one off, but it would not take much!

Though someone said to me that it looked like a Fallout wrist-computer thing, and I can't get that out of my head 😁

Okay - I'm convinced. Heading to my boutique this weekend to try one on!

Thanks for your thoughts. Love the Summer Blue! Wish it came with a date, but then again, is a date on a professional dive watch necessary 😅

Vinz which mesh bracelet are you talking about?

To my knowledge there is 1 modern steel version with the ref number 021st1960 to be used with the monster clasp 94522043. This is the bracelet and clasp of the 2009 modern steel Ploprof.

This comes in one size only. It has removable mesh links (pin / sleeve) to size the bracelet.

For the titanium 2015/2016 model the mesh bracelet is different. Clasp is the same, although it's titanium. The bracelet itself comes in parts. Small, medium, large (in titanium). To size the bracelet to your wrist you have to find the best combination. For instance 1 small on the 6 o'clock side and one medium on the 12 side. Same system als with the Rolex oysterflex rubber straps. Then for a good fit you need to adjust the clasp. This titanium bracelet is rattely and flimsy.

It could be your AD is ordering the titanium pieces.

You could consider the vintage (service) bracelet 1266/237. You can order it new with your AD with ref number 020ST1266237.

That's a very good question, need to follow-up with himself on the status. It was the steel mesh bracelet for the large adjustable clasp (guessing 2009) Odd thing is the size of it was extremely small for only being one size fits all. Seems like someone didn't think it through when ordering the parts for it. Doubt I would've been the only person with a 7 in or larger wrist.

If that's the case, will definitely look into ordering the vintage bracelet.

Those links are for the 1266/237 vintage model. With a 7" wrist you probably don't need the extension links on the vintage model, judging by your photos as well, if that's where you're going. This one is around 600 euro.

If your OB ordered the correct modern bracelet, it should come in steel with the two mesh pieces and the clasp as one package. The mesh pieces have about 3 removable links on both sides of the clasp. Check the ref number on the packaging 020STZ015599 and you're good. This ref number is the complete combination of the mesh parts (021st1960) and the clasp (94522043) together.

I ordered this one a few years back at the Omega Boutique for 770 euro. Just make sure you don't get the titanium ones with the Small Medium Large parts for your Summer Blue.

Yeah, the one they ordered was steel but didn't have any removable links on the either side of the clasp. It's like it's was sent without the links, or possibly came from a different boutique where this was a bracelet used for spare links for other customers.

Didn't see the packaging since when I got the the OB, it was already assembled. Can definitely see how it would fit fine with the three links on each side.

Once I hear back from the sales guy, will have a better idea.

The 1200
  • On the mesh = most badass
  • On vintage rubber = max dive tool vibes
  • On modern rubber = most comfy

The modern rubber strap offers the soft touch & the benefit of the clasp to adjust to the exact fit.

And that orange is so funky!
