·Hi All on the Omega Forums,
My name is Warrick and I have only just joined your forum. I have also just purchased my first Omega watch.
I purchased a 2011 PloProf 1200 from a private buyer in my home town. It is in very good condition and came in the original box with the both the original shark mesh and orange PloProf Omega bands. Both bands are still the original length (never cut to length) as the previous owner had a very large wrist and didn't need to adjust. I am very happy to finally own one after many years of looking at these watches and now finally being in a position to purchase one.
I first saw one on the friend of my fathers back in the 70's. He was an abalone diver here in Australia. His was the original PloProf 600 and I thought it was the coolest watch I had ever seen. It certainly stuck in my mind and I have been fascinated with the PloProf ever since.
I am a keen surfer and recreational diver and would like to put my PloProf on a NATO band as I have lost a Seiko Diver a number of years ago when one of the spring-bars failed on a rubber 2 piece strap. Ever since I have put all my past diver watches on NATO bands for the safety of at least relying on 1 spring bar. Of course it has never happened again (touch wood) but the voice in my head tells me to continue this same path. I would be devastated if I lost my PloProf.
Anyway I have ordered a 24mm wide Crown and Buckle HD NATO band which should arrive in Australia next week all going well.
Has any one else on the forum swapped out their Shark Mesh or PloProf Rubber band for a NATO band?
Love to hear how they wear on a NATO and if there are any recommendations on other NATO bands that work well on a PloProf.
I will post a few images next week of mine on the HD Crown and Buckle.
Thanks in advance for any feedback or comments.
