When I first went bearded at 21yo my father commented that it was the sign of a weak chin or a weak personality. I had to point out that either way it was his fault either genetically or by upbringing. Never heard another word about it.

·Well "real men" have hair so I guess those that don't, want to aspire to having hair too and after all expensive watches are aspirational items so conflate the 2 and bingo another watch sale.
It's all bs of course as many men don't all have arms bristling with gorilla like goodness ( such as myself 😀 ). Though in my case I need a watch to be largish as the dial disappears into the thatch.
