Ok, this one was easy 😉. It’s an old logo from the „Halliburton Oilfield Services“.

And now iam heading back to the first one 😵‍💫

E: And somehow the logo of the oilfield company looks very similar to the first logo...
Well done! I put that up as a joke really, but it seems to have reinvigorated the thread and maybe now with this small success we will get an answer on the mystery logo.

Hello guys, thank you very much for your time on this guessing game.

I bought this watch in Germany.
Unfortunately, the former owner didn't know the logo either. The logo can also come from a European country.

Looks like whoever wins the pot for the guessing of the logo will be able to afford the watch. 😉

Wasted another hour or so looking in EUIPO which has a far better search than TESS:
https://euipo.europa.eu/eSearch/#advanced/trademarks/images

However I went through about 3000 images and didn't see it. I don't think it's in there. LOTS and lots of bird trademarks, but not one that matches this. If the company dissolved pre EU, I'm guessing that it didn't get migrated over.

Also went back to the airline picture database I posted before and looked through all the European airlines there were (a metric ton). That was at least another hour.

I have little hope of finding this damn thing.

Looks like a flying snake.

Also the caseback saying Fab Suisse, could it be a french issued watch, so maybe a french logo ?

Are we certain that it's a bird? That fang...

The fang is an interesting feature on that logo.
Maybe it is a stylized Griffin creature?
The Griffin has a lion's body with a birds head and wings.

Here is an example of the Griffin being used for the Vauxhall car logo.

Maybe searching for a European company that used a Griffin (also spelled Gryphon) as a company logo might find it.

And here is a stylized Gryphon logo for the University of Guelph.

Obviously not the same logo but it has some of the same characteristics with the look of the straight wing lines and four legs.

I never before met anyone from VA who would have even heard of Vauxhall - impressive! It was the GM subsidiary in England back when, but even in continental Europe the same vehicles were badged Opel. I spent some time at their plant in Luton (southern UK). No-one was handing out watches to star employees, customers, or suppliers though...

Thanks. My interest in British vehicles started with the motorcycles of the 1960's and 1970's.
My favorites were the BSA 441 Victor, the Royal Enfield road bikes, the Triumph 750 Trident, etc.
I still own a Norton 850 Commando.

As far as British cars, I've owned a couple of Jaguars (a Series II E-Type FHC and Vanden Plas sedan).

So, I had heard of Vauxhall but never owned one.

Wow, great taste, Ron! I'd better stop hijacking the thread, but I should just say you haven't missed anything - I think in US GM terms, Vauxhall was all of the Chevy, but no Corvette, unfortunately.
(PS I still think it's a K. One day, they'll all come around, you'll see, oh yes...)

They are back and selling a compelling bike in the US at super affordable prices.
