Well, we got our first snow early not a good sign and almost slipped on ice when I went to the post office. Not ready for it. Had to take my brother to the VA for blood work drive 50 miles in the snow and the VA cancels it. They even sent him a page to remember the appointment they should have sent one to say it was canceled. Well got to relearn to drive in it. But it does look nice.

I'm ready. Winter might be my favorite season, but I know that many people hate it.

I like winter, but only when Big Snow pays a visit. Shallow, warm winters are boring.
Growing up in the northeast, we used to ice fish on the local lake. Ice shantys would go up, and fishermen would ride their jeeps and snowmobiles out to the shantys to fish. The lake ice would be 12” thick.

That lake hasn’t frozen over since 2012 and that was an anomaly. Regular freezings ended in the early 2000s. Locals blamed it on the dock bubblers. At the same time, every northeast snow ski resort went into bankruptcy. But people blamed the lake bubblers.

I live in S Florida so I yearn for the winter months. Still rainy and 80s. Beautiful shots you posted.

80 degrees in the DC area yesterday. We're still in the roller coaster weather season (50s one day, 80 the next). If we don't see any white stuff until after Dec 31 I'll be happy.
