Going on 22 years of ownership (15 years as a daily), ya’ll have inspired me to take it out today and forgo the shinier options.

You know you love it. I bet it feels amazing. 😁

I tend to wear one watch for a long time when I select it, so don't really think about having a "daily", but the Speedmaster is what I tend to wear most often, so I guess it would qualify...

Out of interest Al, what Speedy have you got? Is it well looked after 😉

Yes. Thanks to Uncle (Seiko) Straps half-link for the 1861 bracelet, it now fits perfectly!

You can see the grooves on the Uncle half-link are a little bit deeper than the Omega links, but in use it’s partly hidden by the buckle so who cares?
That is useful info. Thx

1971...

Well looked after? I suppose so, but my watches are tough to make time to service when I have so many customer's watches in the queue...

Nice looking example, does it maybe have the beginnings of browning hear the bottom of the dial? Or maybe it is just the photo. I'd wear that for sure.

If I had one, I would. Someday.
Threads like this are tough on a fellow.

I recall a post where an OF member was so protective of his watch that he wouldn’t wear his Speedy if he thought it was going to rain. To each his own, but to me a tool watch is a tool, after all. Personally, mine is my daily watch. I love it, it’s comfortable, accurate, purposeful in appearance, and not bling. I take care of the watch, try not to bang it around, but I’m sure it will pick up some “patina” over time.

Who among us wears his Speedy daily?

Showoff! To be fair, if I had that I'd wear it every chance I had. 👍

I've found that once I settled on the right bracelet, I only ever take the Speedie off when I'm doing something particularly dirty or dangerous.
Then its an old Sub homage with a bit of heritage of its own, before back to the Speedie.
I suppose it's the consequence of attaining a grail watch.
