I wear mine every day, which has raised the odd eyebrow as I’m a primary school teacher, but the way I see it it’s safer on my wrist than it would be sitting in an empty home all day, at risk of a break-in.
Why should a Speedy on the wrist of a primary school teacher raise a few eyebrows? And whose eyebrows are raised? Your colleagues? Or the parents?.
Why should a Speedy on the wrist of a primary school teacher raise a few eyebrows? And whose eyebrows are raised? Your colleagues? Or the parents? It's not like you're rolling up to work with a diamond encrusted Daytona on your wrist.

I bought my Speedy reduced exactly as a daily. Then I decided to give it a full overhaul including case (impressive work done by kevin -watchcaserestorations on instagram) and afterwards I even bought a NOS bracelet.
As it does look brandnew now I take it off when I am working actively in the lab (magnets, steel surfaces etc) but otherwise I try to live with the fact that it will inevitably get scratches/lifemarks - did not buy it to leave it in the drawer.
1. Why is this guy wearing something that costs the best part of eight grand when he barely earns that in a quarter and
2. Doesn’t it get caked in snot and glitter etc every day??
In response:
1. This is a guy who saves up his pennies, and is an astute investor 😁
2. It doesn't matter, a Speedy is tough enough to take it!
Ditto
I have a small number of watches that I would consider as "dressy/formal" wear only and one or two that are sentimental value and get worn rarely. Pretty much all the rest are daily wearers. This includes my Speedy.
So whilst my speedy doesn't get worn every day due to rotation it is definitely in that category.
