Any of the Enicar supercompressors - if you also want to include sportier watches, that is!

Agree. Totally undervalued IMO. Lots of configurations and looks, and really cool technology.

Perhaps he means what are good looking watches from big brands that look good and are cheap...

I say welcome to the hunt.

If you are into gold watches, AP three handers with date with cal. 2125 are still a bargain, if you can find them at auction.

Any vintage mechanical Smiths Deluxe, Astral, w10,12-15.
And let’s not forget the Tissot Seastar Navigator three register chronograph with Lemania 1281 movement. Cracking little watch.
Cheers.

Well. I mean this. Iconic pellaton movement with typical calatrava-ish case design...
THAT falls into the $1,500-$3,500 range? I think I have a new target on my hunting list!

Seiko chronographs or worldtimes from the late 60s to mid 70s

Agree on Seiko chronographs. A lot of watch for little dosh. Although prices are starting to creep up.

I don’t really buy dress watches, so off the top of my head, divers and chronographs I’ve owned and would consider in your list are:

- Bulova Accutron Astronaut
- Bulova Devil Diver
- Seiko Pogue
- Seiko 6105-8110
- Nivada / Croton Chronomaster

And of course the Enicar, Zodiac Seawolf and Glycine Airman as already mentioned

These, the Grand/King Seikos along with the afforementioned Seiko 6105-8110 (aka the Captain Willard). So much enjoyment and variety at a mostly reasonable price.

And following the Seiko theme , the classic 6139-6002 . Still a practical daily wearer without silly money prices .

This Citizen bullhead chronograph from 1980, a borderline vintage, is really difficult to find in excellent original condition. And it's around 1k. I think it has a timeless design and perfect size at 38mm.
