    I did a quick search as to what is considered vintage, with no luck, and am now wishing to know if my;

    Speedmaster Mark II (1969) ,
    Speedmaster Mark 4.5 (1974-75?) and
Omega flightmaster cal 911 (1969 to early 1970's)
    are considered vintage?

If so, I look forward to being a member of this forum and posting some pics, if not, I'll move them over to the Modern Omegas' Forum.

What are the guidelines to be considered, or classed as vintage?

And just in case anyone thinks it did not happen.....

My Beautiful Mark 4.5 that has been gracing my wrist these past 4 days.

I'm going to say yes, generally speaking pre-sapphire or pre-1980 is most commonly considered vintage, but there's no hard rule at all.

That pretty much works for most brands. I've seen numbers kicked around like 20 years, 30 years, etc.

I'm pleased they make the cut. Being born in the late, late, (late, mind you!!) 50's, I always believed that the 60's and the 70's were our most enlightening times. Fortunately, I feel the same about watches from that era. Especially for me, Omegas and Heuers..

And OT I know, ( don't have a good pic of my Mark II), but one that just slips into the vintage, (I think) my PVD Heuer 750.501. Lovely face, and beautifully preserved case.

    A wonderful era.

Of course they are Vintage. Lovely watches.

Although I was sharply rebuked by my young niece as I walked around in an old leather jacket.
Apparently, according to her, "Vintage isn't cool if you wore it first time around"

    Oops. That's my wardrobe condemned.

Huh? It's cooler if you owned it since new. Anybody can go to a vintage shop or even Goodwill and buy something old. To be the original owner is the most desired no matter what type of collectable object it is.

Ha Ha. Yes I agree completely with the owned since new concept for watches. (and cars too) - however I defy most people to go into a goodwill shop and come out wearing something AND looking good!

I did it and someone put a dollar in the coffee cup I happened to be holding.
