Which Speedmaster(s) should I consider next?

I've spent some time with the dark/gray-side watches and I think they are just a little too big for my 6.5" wrist.
Same for me...

All the DSOTM-Variants with ceramic case are bigger in size šŸ™ˆ sadly!

Yes! One of these is on my list.

You mentioned having a personal reason for wanting one and I feel the personal reasons are the best reasons.

I love this watch. I love the imperfection that makes it unique. It’s a therapy tool for my OCD perfectionism.

It also ā€œcompletedā€ my speedy collection in a way.

Here’ my take from when I first got it. https://omegaforums.net/threads/my-first-classic-speedy.188384/

The Ed White is already in the box - bottom right. And here:

Yep, missed that. I once had 13 Speedmasters but eventua!ly concluded that was just too much of a dollar suck, some hardly worn. So whittled it down to eight, probably still too many. Collecting is an odd gig, sometimes the goal gets lost in accumulation. Party on.

as others have said....a yellow or rose gold Speedy is missing from your phenomenal collection....

I've been collecting and enjoying watches now for many years, and have learned a few things in the process. One of those things is that the Speedmaster is my favorite watch, all things considered.

I've now accumulated enough Speedmasters to either require a bigger box, or a second one, which got me thinking about what else I might want to consider (eventually) adding to this set.

Given the current state of the collection - which includes 5 modern Speedy Pros, 5 neo-vintage Speedy Reduced and two "non-Pros" - what might you consider adding here?

On my "when the right watch appears list":

- 145.022 w/ 220-error bezel
- and maybe a Blue dial Schumacher or Cart 3510.81/0

EDIT: I realize there is a lot here to enjoy and be grateful for, and I'm in no hurry to add things. I also realize that there are a lot of corners of the Speedmaster Universe that I am not familiar with, and curious to get some feedback or suggestions.
Hi, that’s very interesting and collection looks great. I’m just about to buy my first Speedmaster, and l’ve narrowed it down to two in the Professional category, being a Silver Snoopy or the Reverse Panda. Be interested in your thoughts on those two options. Thanks.

A Snoopy is probably not the best selection for a first Speedmaster, too focused on a particular theme. Reverse Panda would be a good choice, or just a basic hesalite, or sapphire, model is a good entry point too.

Thank you, sound advice. I’m leaning towards the Panda, with sapphire because l want to wear the watch to work on a daily basis (so more practical than the Snoopy perhaps) and l like to be able to see the working movement of the 3861, which l understand is concealed with the hesalite option. I’ll buy new and the Panda is that little bit less pricey. Very excited about buying myself a new SP though and owning something of real heritage.

@BMXG Have you been able to see these watches in person and try them on? The Reverse Panda is very different from the standard Speedy Pro. If I was going to just have one Speedmaster, it would probably be the standard one, with sapphire case back. The Reverse Panda is awesome, but it is also less legible, shinier, thicker (slightly) and more expensive than the standard black dial Speedy Pro.

The Snoopy is an interesting choice as a first and only speedmaster, but are you thinking you would pay over retail for this? I doubt you can just walk in and buy one as your first Speedmaster directly from Omega or through an AD, right?

Thank you, and all fair points. My local Omega boutique in the UK has the Snoopy and the Reverse Panda in store for me to try on. I’ve decided l’ll buy a Speedy Pro and it is likely to be my only one. I’m buying to wear and use, and this will be my fourth Omega to my collection (l like to wear each one to work as the mood and occasion dictates). Thanks again for your thoughtful comments.

My apologies - the Snoopy had been ordered for another customer to buy but that customer decided not to buy it - so, my boutique gave me a call to see whether l wanted to try it on as they knew l was contemplating one. So, l may have given a misleading impression as to its availability. It has since been purchased by another customer. But l visited my boutique today and ordered a Reverse Panda - so very excited about wearing this for the summer!

That makes more sense. Thanks for clarifying

Very nice - looks stunning. Can’t wait to join the SP Moon watch club myself.

I was on the fence about the reverse panda, and came to own it because it was part of the deal in order to get the Ed White allocation from the OB. I don't regret it. I think it is probably the most comparable to a steel Daytona...

Though I think Rolex wants us to believe this Tudor BB is the more direct competitor

I like all three, but I think the Tudor's case is too thick and unrefined by comparison

I find that kind of shocking in the photo - it doesn't wear too much worse in real life...

Here's the Daytona profile vs Speedy

And the Daytona vs Tudor - you can kind of see a family ressemblance

Reverse panda would be an excellent first Speedy IMO. It's a combination of the white dial and the classic. I have both of those which is why I'm not getting one. And the Snoopy 50. And the Tudor BB chrono panda.
