Which Speedmaster(s) should I consider next?

@Evitzee you are right! I agree this is a nice and diverse set, and I definitely don't need another one. But, I really do enjoy these and am looking to broaden my awareness in this world. There was a time when I thought that all Speedmasters were kind of the same thing (gasp!) - I know, and I'm sorry : /

I hadn't really paid attention to the ST1 and ST2, and appreciate the call out - I especially like the one with the sub registers that are lumed.

The Snoopy 1 and 2 are on my list of curios... I am getting to the age where precious metals make more sense, but not sure if a PM Speedmaster is still my favorite watch, all things considered. Puzzling that one out in realtime...

FWIW, I wear all of these more regularly than most of my other watches, and I really enjoy each of them for different reasons.

The 1863 Sapphire sandwich was my first speedmaster, back when I thought 42mm was too large for my wrists. I wore that one like we used to wear watches - which is to say, it has a very real patina of a life lived on the wrist.

The Snoopy was love at first sight, but I didn't want to pay gray prices, and that is what got me buying a few newer Speedmasters from the OB at retail.

The White Dial and Paris Chronoscope were on my list anyways, and they got me to the Snoopy. I lost someone very close in 2024 with a French connection - and had planned to buy that Chronoscope while in Paris, but didn't get the opportunity, so ended up getting it just after from the local OB.

I was on the fence with the new Reverse Panda, but am happy to have it, and that is the watch that got me the 321. Again these both wear differently from any others in the set and I really am enjoying them.

A close friend, and the person most responsible for getting me interested in luxury watches as an adult sold me his Speedy Reduced Mk40 Annual Calendar many years ago - as he was exciting the hobby. I am holding it for my son, who is in love with it. The other Schumacher are awesome pops of color, and have a vintage (light and not very expensive) feel. The red was my first, followed quickly by the yellow, then the white and black checkered flags. A blue one would finish the set (kind of - assuming you don't need a Cart and non-cart) - but I'm a little less interested in those for some reason.

EDIT: And of course the TinTin. Perhaps my favorite in this set. Love the story, and love the dial. The first one I considered buying was at Watches and Wonders in Las Vegas several years back, but thought $24k w/o box or papers was steep. When prices fell to 4-figures, for a like new example, I could no longer refuse.

Very nice collection 👍

I would consider,
1. Enamel dial 50th Ann. caliber 3201, the "High Horology" speedy
That's a good suggestion. Thinnest Speedy Pro with the best water resistance with probably the most rare movement.

@OmegaBHR I'm discovering a few of these for the first time. I might need more than another box before I am done here 😜

Having owned the watch for a few years now, I can safely say it is one of my favorite speedies to wear. Weak point is the bracelet, however that is easily solved, i used the 50th Ann. flat link bracelet on it and it complements the thinness of the watch perfectly. I also installed the spiralwinder ceramic bezel and it goes perfectly with the enamel dial.

If you havent seen this video then check it out, very good explanation of the watch,

Do you really want/need another Speedmaster?
If you polled every member that already owns at least one Speedmaster, the answer is always yes.

How about a FOIS?
I like FOIS, but the faut-tina is a little too much for me. Yours doesn't seem to have it - perhaps an earlier version the the current one?

Yes, it's the original FOIS that was produced from 2012 to 2020. It's a numbered edition so each watch has a specific number on the caseback. Only about 16,000 of them were made. The dial, handset and case combo are unique to this reference. It's a good option if you like the look of a straight lugs Speedy but without the fauxtina. Check out this thread also:

Check and review the First Omegamania 2007/08 auction catalogue, and see what Antiquorom and Omega had failed, missed or forgotten to include one of rarest omega speedmasters.

Feel the same way about the faut-tina. It has the color but looks too perfect, doesn't have the warmth of a dail with patina does. Know you mentioned the Straight Writing, which is always a great option. Another one is the Gemini IV 40th Anniversary, the blue dial with silver subdial combo really is unlike any other Speedy (outside of the 2020 Tokyo Olympic one where they used the same dial) but both are limited editions)

If you fancy a hunt, it’s worth it.

If I were to add another speedy to my batch, it would be the Gemini 4.

Perhaps this one?

That looks cool as hell on the purple strap, stunning watch overall but that’s really nice fit for it for some Prince vibes

All those Speedmasters and no straight lug in sight. Get an EW321 and call it a day. Game, set, match.

The Ed White is already in the box - bottom right. And here:

I've spent some time with the dark/gray-side watches and I think they are just a little too big for my 6.5" wrist.
