Hello all!
I am a high school math teacher; and we are currently using zoom to teach our courses.

One of my students uses this guy as his Avatar, and didn’t want to tell me who it is, or where it’s from.

Now I’m dying of curiosity.

Any help?

Maybe Jeff Garlin? Comedian/actor, from Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Goldbergs, etc.

Marilyn is a closer match. Same beauty mark.

But not in the same location on the face.

OP, you are the teacher, you have some leverage over the student, even in 2020. Be creative.

Math is everywhere. You can't escape it. 😁

I would go so far as to say that not only is math everywhere, math is everything...😀

Haha.

Well, he didn’t want to tell me. And I said “I’m gonna find out, trust me.”

unfortunately I was putting all my money on the omega forums crew, and it doesn’t look like the turn out is that great so far haha

Agree 100%.

As a mere watch enthusiast, I notice there is lots of math in watches too.

I want to buy a book on the origins of time.

Any ideas?

Like why is the day 24 hours?

why 365 days?

What is the equation of time that some fancy watches display?

When in doubt I ask my kids...
Youngest says the image is from a Japanese manga, basically a comic book or graphic novel.
My eldest a phd candidate in mathematics, specializing in analysis and number theory, looked at the image and said..."I have no idea." However, he wholeheartedly agrees that math is indeed everywhere... just consider the golden ratio, also known as the golden mean or the divine proportion.

Ask your son “where is the math below” 😉
