I think having more than one 5513 can be redundant. You're basically looking for subtle difference in bezel and lume color. Even so, it usually makes more sense just to have the best one and sell the others.

With Speedmasters there are so many more variations and differences that keep the collecting interesting and fun. I can't get enough of the LEs

Then there is also the price point to consider...

Well you can't compare the Speedmaster family to the 5513, which is just a model in Submariner range.

Within the Submariner range there are many interesting variants.. Starting with big crowns, square guards, gilt dials, military subs, red writings and I may also incluse sea dwellers...

I think for both kind of collectors (Subs and Speeds) sky is the limit. .....actually the your wallet is the limit 馃榾

Hi All,

Just a quick update on private watch listings for vintage speedmasters (2915s through to 145.022-78s) now that January 2018 is behind us.

January 2018...3...............January 2017...7

I'm hoping with the holidays out the way the numbers pick up again

Not that I'm a lyricist, but shouldn't it be 'speedies'? More in tune with the song . . . try humming both, and you'll hear what I mean.

There is a fine line between TRADING and CHEATING, Unfortunately some don't have the moral character to do the proper thing.

Yes, but "speculator" is also too long. Needs a one-syllable synonym.
Or use "Gone to speculators every one", which needs a two-syllable synonym with an accent on the first.

Lots of interesting discourse here. Hi. I'm new to the forum but not so new to Speedmasters. I was distracted by many things in recent years and haven't been buying, so imagine my surprise when I checked the market for the first time since about 2011. Bezels are now selling for what I paid for a rather nice 2998 back then, and I thought those prices were very high. I've been reading some old threads, and there has been discussion of bubbles in many of them. I like old things, from muscle cars to vintage audio and lots in between, and my experience has taught me that when there is a growing demand and a very limited supply, that's not a bubble. That's a market with many new buyers entering and diminishing product due to people hoarding or simply just keeping things in their collections. Speedmasters seem to be experiencing that now, especially the caliber 321 watches. And what's this talk of Rolex guys defecting to Omega shores? I've missed a lot. Many, many Speedmaster fans here, too. Chuck used to be the only guy I could talk to about them, but now there are students who seem to have made a real study of moon watches. I hear there's even a coffee table book I need to buy. (Can anyone loan me the few hundred dollars?) Anyway, I have a lot to learn, again, it seems.
