When do you take off your vintage watch?

Well it depends on the watch. This morning I made up two fires, split some kitchen fire wood and carried some heavy stuff about and yesterday I scoured the, very low, roofed attic and the barn for a suspected stone marten invasion while wearing a speedmaster pro mk IV.
It survived but I wouldn't have worn a constellation while doing any of that.

I take mine off during certain house hold chores, any time I use power tools, generally when I think I'll be around water. The three Omega's I own are pretty fragile and all need to be sent out for service in the next year once I find a watch maker. I'm too worried I'll knock one of them too hard and damage the movement. I already found out that I can't wear one while drinking heavily, managed to scuff up a crystal a week or two ago, dumb too, just took a corner a little too tight for the watch, still getting used to wearing one.

I seriously want to find a sub $500 Omega I can just be careless with, I'd probably even prefer it to be quartz.
Something like this, but one that I can attach a different band to, I'm not likely to keep a SS bracelet on it all the time.

If I do find one I like, I probably wouldn't ever find out if it's water proof until it went in for some kind of service, so I'd just plan to take it off when swimming.

I take my vintage watches off when they're done working at the donut factory. 👍

My Dad's Waltham Ruby [circa 1928] on the lower left and my Waltham Vanguard 1908 [circa 1929] on the upper right...doing work at the donut factory...most likely during "Waltham Wednesday"...

Wearing vintage watches? Who would do that? You're supposed to take them out from your over-priced, Italian leather watch case, fondle and stare at them, and put them back. Wearing is for new watches.

You take a diving watch off when near water ? It should be fine, get it pressure tested and fixed if it fails then you can use it wherever.

1. Doing dishes
2. Going to a wedding or party where there is alcohol, a good DJ, and higher than average humidity.

Yard work, dishes, showering or washing my face, sleeping, at work if I have to reach in the back of the sheetmetal shelving. Camping at a rocky, dusty campsite. Astronomy events (substitute cheap Casio dual-timezone here). Sex? I dunno, it's been so long I've forgotten.

Yeah. I know but I suspect it's not waterproof, as the last guy that serviced it didn't fill me with confidence when he hadn't fitted the new crystal properly.
I will send to a trusted guy at some point.
