Did they really have to mention that is a guilloche on the - well - guilloche dial... 馃槙馃槙馃槖

Yes. It's for the non-WIS that want to drop $30k on a watch that doesn't say it's a SUPERLATIVE CHRONOMETER nor have a Crown on the dial. Gotta give them a reason to spend that kinda coin.

In 2017 I want to branch out and acquire a nice JLC, my love is Omega but a vintage 1950ish or before JLC or others would help me grow. I always am searching for the WWII through 1800's vintage pieces, the golden age of the watchmaker at his bench. I have a 1937 handmade bench that I am trying to find a watchmaker for!

I really don't feel the modern watches except for perhaps, the tdmp's.

BART shutting down at midnight is ridiculous, and a deal breaker.

Yep. Same with Caltrain. Absolute BS

the subway system is probably no better here in SD as I have to drive everywhere.

Didn't even know SD has a subway, but I imagine it's a lot cheaper to live near fun areas so you wouldn't need it as much. And yes, if I have to live in a soulless suburb, might as well be in one where the weather's awesome year round.

All is subject to change but for the time being my current list:
-Birth year('94, still haven't decided on refs.) Seamaster/Speedmaster if funds allow
-UG Polerouter(I am going to be in a wedding in June and think this will look great with a tux)
-Zodiac Sea Wolf (maybe two, need to start building up the wolf pack)
-Some type of alarm watch, haven't decided yet
-Vintage Alpina if I can ever find one
-Alpina Pilot Big Date

Probably won't actually get any of these but I can dream!
And I'm going to add something I forgot.

Possibly a Halios. I am really liking some of them, especially the Tropik and the Seaforth coming in 2017. Just don't want to pay full ticket price.

Well, be careful. Sometimes a great deal isn't what it's cracked up to be. I mean, look at that discount dog in your avatar - If you went to a real kennel or licensed ASPCA shelter your poor pet wouldn't be disfigured.

If deals truly were all they were cracked up to be they wouldn't be deals, they would just be sales.

And actually the stretched dog was adopted (SPCA) under the impression it was a Husky Shepherd mix. 6 months and a DNA test later resulted in Husky Chihuahua mix and she looooooves chasing squirrels::stirthepot::

My bad, no subway-lived in Chicago too long, we have a coaster and trolley, but if outdoors is your thing you will certainly enjoy this...

But then again you get $1.5k worth of gold for your 30k Investment ... Isn't that something?

If it is gold platinum or palladium and cheap its on the list. Also maybe a Seiko 5717 or 5719 or maybe a Citizen Recordmaster....

My first purchase in 2017 will be a chronograph.
I've narrowed it down to either the Omega Speedster Professional , Zenith El Primero Pilot (Older model without the numbers on the dial) or the IWC Pilot Chronograph.

Hmm...either a birth year (1989) or MK2 Speedy. Pre-moons/transitionals require more reading up/research for me...

I have three chronographs and two watches that need servicing before I can wear them. That should more or less see off my 2017 watch budget. Well, that is the theory...馃

Hmm, 2017? I'd really like a GP 4946 (picture from Puristpro). There was one on ebay just 2 weeks ago, but it wasn't in all that good condition, so I passed.

If I can find one pre-owned, perhaps a GO Sixties Iconic. I like the red one. (pic from Hodinkee)

And finally, after my Nomos drama, if I could find the same watch again, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. Still an achingly lovely and eminiently wearable watch that I miss.

But knowing me, I'm pretty certain I'll be distracted by something else along the way! 馃槜

another 321 Speedy (just a good honest piece). Oh, and to learn from the crew here (and my incoming Moonwatch Only book 馃榾 ) and then will likely adjust my pursuits accordingly.

I am eying of a few Rolex 14270 's at the moment, early 90's with lugholes but still looking for the preferably full set. Love the simple look of these Explorer's and the perfect 36 mm size case.
As for new. A white Globemaster is on the top of the list.
But no doubt that other models will attract my attention during the coming year.

Rolex GMT master 1675

And one of the new Sinn 103 Ti UTC IFR pilots Chronograph (Catchy name, right?)

Oh, and a Halios Seaforth

And probably a bunch of other things I don't know about yet
