Congratulations on getting Yours! It certainly is worth the wait. The joy of simply looking at this watches detail matches the feel of actually wearing it. I find myself
Spending a bit of time viewing it working

Sorry there. Technical glitch. As I said the detail on the backside of the Darkside
8 is fun to view. My concern was the strap size and the type of restraint - I switched to a deployment type and a larger black gator strap. Thought that I might miss the yellow accents...but the peace of mind of the more secure system
simply beats that factor out in my mind. Anyway...enjoy your new treasure.

I have mine on a cordura dsotm strap. It’s ultra comfortable and I don’t mind the buckle (am just careful where I take it off). The only issue I have is that 21mm is a bit thin for the watch. 22 or 23 would look better.

Have you got photos of yours with the bigger croc on please?

I was able to get my Apollo 8 at the Tourbillon Boutique in Miami. I've replaced the included strap with a replica NASA strap from Kizzi. It looks great on the watch, and is more comfortable than the leather strap. Since I don't have to completely open the strap to get it on and off, it also has the benefit of not being able to fall off my wrist as I don and doff it, whereas with the buckled strap it could slide off when opened. The Apollo 8 is my first and so far only luxury watch, so I'm still a bit tentative with it!

Lets see those pictures! I have a Kizzi strap too, but my Apollo 8 is too new and I kinda like the OEM strap for now.

You can order a deployant strap that looks exactly like the factory perforated yellow accent strap (holes are round vs rectangular to work with the deployant buckle). One of my local OB guys brought that to my attention so I have one on order now. I’m looking forward to putting that on when it gets in!

Could you get the item number/code to see if I can order one please.

I posted a few photos yesterday on the DSOTM thread here:

Here are a few more:

Frank Borman may be doing a mail-in signing event at Astronaut Central this fall. It's not finalized yet, but he's done them for the past several years, so it's pretty certain. If he does, I'm planning to send the watch box to have him sign it.

That looks great! A signing with Borman would be very cool!

Sure, I’ll let you know what I find out when I attend an Omega sponsored event at the OB this weekend.

@Omega-Q, @lustrousaurus , Thanks! I do think the Kizzi strap looks and feels great, and the quality is excellent. Many reviews say it's better constructed than the NASA strap that comes with the Bulova Lunar Pilot.

@burnrbr , Love your avatar 👍

Going with another mate to pick his up tomorrow, and after wearing it through Singapore all last week I love it even more.

@PeterO Thanks! It’s the first time I’ve seen the Kizzi strap and it looks awesome. Ordered one up myself! 😀

I’ve had mine 4 weeks now and the 16710 has only been out the box once and the longines on for one day. I’ve never been so pleased with a watch. It’s so comfortable and I am a ceramic convert for sure.
