Until relatively recently I worked with thoroughbred racehorses, having turned a passion into a vocation.

"Worked with thoroughbred racehorses"....

??? 😉

I'm in my 14th year. Always been into watches and what's inside of them, but don't think I could do it as a career. I prefer things a little bigger!
But have the upmost respect for everyone in the watch making industry.

Well not so lonely actually. But plenty to do, that’s for sure.

In between visits to see my partner who has been in intensive care for the past three weeks, I am glued to OF to see if I can find a thread that
@padders or @Dan S haven't replied to. No luck so far.

it’s a great group of folks who collectively know more about Omega than just about anybody except, well, OMEGA
In my relatively short time here I have seen several cases where this group does in fact know more about Omega than Omega.

I work in the government mainly with environmental impact assessments, right now on off-shore windfarms. I also teach at University as part-time lecturer in EIA and spatial planning. When I am not doing that I am spending a lot of time telling my kids to calm down and stop making trouble or getting yelled at by my wife for putting my dirty clothes on the floor by the bed and not in the laundry bag 1 meter away.

Pretty much retired right now but for 30 years did JUNK MAIL. Mailed from 600 pieces to over 600,000 pieces in one mailing. I always liked to refer to what I did as "Lick it and stick it."😝

I'm a consulting archaeologist and historian. We mostly do technical studies for development projects, with a bit of forensic history work for legal cases thrown in there. I took over our family business a few years back and it's been going pretty decently so far.

I come from a long line of jewellers, gold bugs, genealogists, antiques enthusiasts, and hoarders, so obsessing over old watches feels strangely natural (even virtuous - hardly takes up any space compared to most things one can collect!)

I also like paddleboarding, bicycling, parenting, and whiskey, not necessarily in that order 😎

So you are the guy the developers are afraid of when they run into something in the ground and you come out and shut the project down for a year to conduct archaelogical studies 😁 I visited a dig site on a road project once where an archaeologist gave a tour of the site and tindings. It was amazing how much could be learned and what was hiding just below the surface of a “random” corn field. Really interesting!

@Togri v. 2.0 but aren’t you the guy that finds the three dotted frog and the almost extinct grass patch that shuts the job down for 2 years before @joeshoup shuts it down for 1 year.

I'm a forensic psychologist and researcher into criminal justice issues. Might be one reason why I'm very interested in events in Iceland at the moment...
