I don’t know anything about that sort of tool, yet it looks very well made.
True 😀 It cost 3x what a “good” one does, but these are better, and since I only need one, I didn’t feel happy getting one that wasn’t as nicely finished. This is the last one I’ll ever need. A cheap tool will work for a while, but a great tool inspires me to do great work.

Final product:

Very cool. I do have a question, though. As an avid shooter, I have been told for years that you should not use a leather holster for long-term storage. The chemicals used in tanning can contribute to wear on the finish and corrosion.

I know that most of our watches are stainless steel, but stainless isn’t immune to corrosion. Was that a consideration when you made your watch pouch. Or, to the group, has anyone considered this when storing watches in leather cases?

Hi,

To be frank, I had never heard that before so I didn’t take it into consideration.

I do thank you for brining it up and will look into it.

I might post the question on the open discussion forum as well.

Silicon band from Barton for my Topaz 200 world timer. Black with pumpkin back to complement the second hand. Not a perfect colour match but pretty close. I like how they packaged it and they send regular and long (I asked for long).

Not for me, but is a Christmas gift for my daughters boyfriend. The kid has potential, to be a collector. Still in the buying over the top watches.

Not watch related, but time related. I bought a "life calendar" that shows each week of my life assuming I live 90 years.

Well my most recent purchases were from start of the year and it included a Bergeon 6111 tool, a few NATOs and a watch roll, but thought I had posted this earlier.

Both in transit, Delayed by vaccine distribution no doubt.
The band is the right size for my wrist, too small for most.

PS
I forgot to mention these have 17.33mm ends, I just happen to have a couple of watches with this size lugs. Not a very common size even in vintage watches. Usually they go from 17mm straight to 18mm. 17.33 and 17.5mm are oddball sized these days.
This came from a large lot, all NOS and the same size. I suspect these were OEM for some particular brand and model that was discontinued before all the bands were used up.

The inside surfaces attracted me more than the outside.
The outside is rather plain but the insides show some thought went into the design. Like my Admiral the inside looks convex to avoid the edges digging into the skin. Should be very comfortable on the wrist.

Last week I’ve bought a full kit for inspection of vintage watches while buying with all the tools, digital ruler, loupe, uv lantern for checking the lume, polywatch and couple fibers, etc. I put it in my car, because you never know when and where you’re going to face a nice watch!

Spotted reference to this on one of the various watch media sites. Interesting, educational and ultimately quite a “dangerous” book.

Straight off to hunt on eBay.........
