Oh dear. I had misgivings when I saw those earlier teaser shots indicating the uncentred placement of the subdials, this reveal certainly hasn't helped on that front...

If it really says Omega Swatch on the dial then that's one way to cheapen the brand for sure.
Hate to say this, but would you ever imagine Rolex making 'plastic' sub collaboration for $200? They're very strict as to which items get 'Rolex' label on top. That's why they've become one of the most valuable brands in the luxury segment.

There are obviously various theories and combinations associated with this collaboration but, assuming there’s going to be 11 watches in the “case” collection, how about there being 10 MoonSwatches and 1 Speedmaster Moonwatch?

That would make for an expensive case collection. I would be quite pissed off to be honest if the Speedy is really good (hints on Fratello today suggest Alaska like hands etc) but can only be purchase as part of the set.

 

You would think if there was one “proper” speedmaster it would be the moon edition but it can’t be because of the battery clip on the back on that one. I think they will all be swatch versions of the moonwatch in the varying colours above.

 

While this is an imagined rendering (hour markers and colors are wrong, sun-dial arrangement off), it won’t be terribly far off given the watches are based on Swatch’s quartz chronograph that has roughly this layout

Those sub dial hands would be great to see again on a reimagined Alaska Project or a new Radial dial Speedmaster.

I hope the new collaboration is worthy of their use and don’t end up on something that looks like it should be in a McDonalds Happy Meal box.

 

Seeing that hand suggested as being used in a Swatch actually made my stomach sink a little because it would seem to decrease the chances of ever seeing Omega do it’s own release.

You mean an Omega Alaska Project anniversary watch with a shinny gold case and white strap similar to what the recent Soyuz MS-21 crew is seen wearing? I still think something is up with the watches they are wearing.
