What’s happening on March 26th then?

If I could have a brand new Omega that currently retails at £10k for £1k I'd feel pretty damn happy. I didn't by my Omega's because they cost thousands, I bought them because I liked them for what they were and would've been perfectly happy to pay far less for them. That's my motivation anyway, yours seems to be different.

I'd like an A. Lange and Sohne but can't justify the financial cost. I don't want one because they're expensive or somewhat exclusive. I'd like one because they're beautifully crafted and to behold.
If your motivation is to have a plastic, ceramic plant based Swatch buy one. They are available with Omega Speedmaster on the dial. I won’t be buying one.

I’ve already explained it, and you understand it, you’re just being contrarian as usual.

It's hard to be "contrarian" by being part of a clear majority across the whole spectrum of social media, where the reception to this collaboration has been overwhelmingly positive. There's zero chance this will do commercial harm to Omega. I personally couldn't care less if one of my Speedys is occasionally mistaken for a $250 Swatch in the future.

To all speedy owners; I will buy your depreciated watches. After this disaster they are probably worth about 500- 1000$ now. Any takers?

This had to be forced down the throat of Omega by the Swatch group. No other explanation.

Since Swatch saved the Swiss watch industry, and turned Omega into a powerhouse of a brand, I’d say Omega must be pretty grateful for whatever has been forced down their throat.

Those people really are marketing geniuses.
Except for the fact that 42mm is really too big for women, even if they make short straps for the mission to Venus.

Omega is not actually obligated to fulfill anyone's sense of self worth and make them feel good about themselves. Sell your Omegas, and then you can feel good again. 👍

I feel even better about my Omegas, today. So, we can cancel each other out, and then the world can keep turning.
A good feeling about something is nothing to do with self worth, these are just watches. You could buy a new Omega for £200, you could also buy an entry Tissot for the same price or a £100 more. In my opinion the Tissot could be a more rational and realistic choice for you and a much better made watch that the Omega Swatch. You would probably enjoy it more, and it is not trying to be something it is not. Just my opinion. If you honestly enjoy your choices that is what matters most. Have a good evening.

In hindsight, I kind of do wish that Omega revealed a smartwatch Collab. People were LIVID about that prospect

My motivation is to buy one or two more watches (yes, the MoonSwatch) I like regardless of what other people think or what any marketing says.

Whether you or anyone else buys one has absolutely no influence or relevance to me. My smalI collection consists almost entirely of "unpopular" watches.

Well, none of the people claiming that the brand is devalued are offering up their watches, so I don’t think either of us are getting rich off this...

Fairly stated. But, no, I would definitely not enjoy an entry level Tissot more than a MoonSwatch. I dig the MoonSwatch, based on what I've seen so far, and I'm proud of Omega and Swatch for their rolls in this release. I dig it. I'm still excited to buy my next Seamaster, as well. Even more so.

Possibly this will actually bring more awareness to the Moonwatch Pro, as well, and make it even more relevant, in general. That's outside my realm.

Wao, 28 pages and most is to justify an opinion multiple times. We can do better. The watches are unique, I will be inline to see if I can get 2. Understand they are cheap and plastic and just a homage of the real piece in very poor quality craftsmanship. A réplica Watch will be better, but what the hell it’s just 260 and if I don’t like it I am sure I can sell for the same amount. For now one for my son and another for me. Definitely takes away from owning a piece of history, understand comments of brand dilution with something of less quality associated with Omega. Could care less as I am an Omega fan due to the Speedmaster, hopefully no collaborations with a cereal box in the future, but at this point they are a public traded company and they serve shareholders. Rolex does not associate with other brands in such a manner but they are an assembly line privately owned. Enjoy with you like. Enjoy peoples view on things for better or worst. Have a beer or a glass of wine and enjoy life they way you personally can afford and let others enjoy what brings them pleasure.

Which two? Have fun. Please let us know if you snag yours and take pics of the mayhem...for those of us stranded in lonely, isolated, and unhip locales. 😒

Honestly, I’d consider selling you both if you are interested. 3861 Sapphire and a blue SMP. Strongly considering replacing my Speedmaster with the BB chrono, and my SMP with a Sub. Say what you will about Rolex and Tudor, but at least they respect and protect their brand and image.

Putting “Omega Speedmaster” on a plastic quartz watch....still can’t believe it. It’s hard to have pride or have respect for a brand that doesn’t even respect itself.

Good for you, if you like it and makes you happy who am I to argue.
