Welding a cracked Bezel ?

As I explained in another thread, I'm after a 168.005 ; I've detailed this already in the mentioned thread, but I thought it would be better to handle that in a separate one; the watch is still under evaluation by his watchmaker, and most honestly, the seller has sent me a picture, pointing out the presence of a crack in the bezel : see the picture hereunder:
he is saying that his watchmaker could easily laser weld it, but then I had a closer look at the picture, and it seems to me that the bezel is bent on the other side of the lug, so towards 12.
What do the experts of OF have to comment on that ? I've seen some examples of laser welding, but that was made on lugs, so IMO a much thicker material than a bezel : could that work to the point that the welded area will not be noticeable after appropriate polishing ?

I was close to shake hands with the seller on that watch, but I'm a bit in the blurr now, so many thanks for your valuable opinions !

IMO it is possible if it is handled by an experienced watchmaker/casemaker

Agreed, but a little word of warning that there’s an emphasis on “experienced”. Those bezels are pressure-fit, so whoever does it needs to be precise.

Personally, I'd keep looking. You should be able to land one of these without any issues with some patience.

Almost certainly a big hassle to get this sorted. There’s no way I’d knowingly get involved unless it was a rare watch, which this isn’t. Just pass and find a better example to start with.

Thanks to all for your valuable comments ! I finally decided to pass on this one, as this issue is too risky to me and the causes of such a crack unclear; I'm off to continue the hunt !
