Now that I am done shining my ICBM up..............drugs and homelessness are so rampant in the states. Wish I could say it was an exaggeration. Average day I probably see 100 zombie druggies. It of course is not everywhere but it sure as hell is in too many places. Combine that with those that have no moral compass you have to pay attention all the time. Never will understand the allure of drugs young people have

A quick googling suggests that the violent crime rate in London was about 25 per 1000 people(2008/9), higher than Baltimore (worst city in USA, 2017) with about 20 per 1000 people. Very hard to compare because of no reporting standards, & the 10 year gap.

FBI data reveals some of the most violent cities in nearly every state ...https://www.businessinsider.com/most-violent-city-every-us-state-fbi-2018-4

Crime in London - Wikipediahttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crime_in_London

The only directly comparable statistics I see is

Homicide. Baltimore in year 2016 57.8 per 100,000
London in year 2012 1.1 per 100,000

Robbery. Baltimore 2016 15 per 1000 people.
London 2010/2011 4.4 per 1000 people

Interestingly the differences in robberies in any city in the UK compare very similarly. Not much difference. 0.5% chance of being robbed in London compared to 0.1% in Sheffield, which is statistically one of the safest.

True.

And you're more than welcome to dive into the statistics to work out what the other crime rates were... I'm done making my point that London is not the war zone that the tabloids have stated that it is.

Believing that crap is akin to believing that everyone in the US owns nuclear weapons, and regularly uses them on each other.
That's right. All big cities have issues, that fluctuate over time.

Let's try to keep individual politicians and persons out of the debate please.

Something doesn't add up to me. A guy that has 75k for a watch and drives a Range Rover, usually would take his car for service to the dealer where he would be sitting in a luxurious waiting area sipping on espressos while his car is being serviced.
Why is this guy taking his car to some mechanic beside a bush 😕😕😕😕😕

Why’s he in the middle of a council estate, at 7:15 in the evening, with his “mechanic”?

Maybe picking up some supplies for that “family holiday”.😒

London is suffering a prolonged and increasingly violent period of mugggings and general nefarious behaviour The home Secretary, stopped the police Stop and Search powers. Now, every scrote ( translates to punk for our American cousins) can carry knives, bottles of acid, guns etc with impunity. There have been multiple serious assaults and murders involving people being robbed of their high end watches. Entirely coincidentally , Mrs My advice? If you’re travelling in London, don’t wear a watch unless it’s a cheap Casio! It really is that bad :-( I was a police officer in London in the 90s and it was bad enough then. Mates who are still in or recently retired only confirm this utterly ridiculous and very scary state of affairs. The current weapon of choice is the aforementioned bottle of acid sprayed into the face and specifically aimed at the eyes of any unfortunate target of these feral, cowardly c***s. Apologies for the c word but that’s nowhere near strong enough an adjective for them.
My previous reply was deleted and I apologise for any offence that I may have caused. I will only say 2 things.
What has the Mayor done?
Police recruiting policy?

You will be surprised.

Same close friend of mine who races in Malaysia Sempang, has no qualms dropping 4 grand on race tires....

However he's very stingy with his money.

(E.g we once went to town for dinner and drinks, he drove picked us up and parked in a hotel. He drives his dad Benz 380. After dinner we were about to head home, he asked us to chip in for the parking, came up to about 48 bucks. Reason was that he picked us up and that he parked at the hotel so we didn't have to walk too far to dinner and drinks)

I was about to visit Massachusetts for a vacation but I’ve read that fatal attacks from sharks is a HUGE risk these days.

After much research I’ve decided to still go but have changed my plans to avoid well known shark hotspots and also I will not be wearing trousers as this apparently attracts sharks. I will also be hyper-vigilant during every waking moment and I will carry a (concealed) harpoon and a can of bat-shark repellent spray I bought off the internet.

Stay safe people!

To be honest, when I was waiting in the police station for the Capitaine to arrive, I could hear these two guys in a cell getting some pretty rough treatment, I almost felt bad for them. 🍿

I went to the police station in Malawi to get a police clearance certificate. While waiting to see the police officer, two young men went crashing through a door with a policeman kicking the crap out of them. A senior officer walked by, stopped turned, and gave them an extra kicking. I think the police have a difficult job and I am thankful fir rhe job they di but even if someone might "deserve" a beating it is not the police who should be handing them out. (I also know it is probably a very very small minority who behave this way but they tarnish the integrity of the office they serve)

I think he does

Look, different people have different experiences. That’s a fact of life. People also have differing levels of acceptable risk. The facts are what they are, if you feel safe within those parameters then all power to you. Different occupations, geographical locations and levels of bravado are all key factors too. My last word on this : just beacause it hasn’t happened to you yet doesn’t mean that that’s always going to be the case. If you’re comfortable with it, then go right ahead and I hope you stay safe no matter what your decision. Peace out!

They have a shark tracker app for shark sightings you may find helpful/interesting.

Or just put your watch on shark mesh...

I have. All my life. So here you go: it’s not that bad.

Like any place on the planet you need to be aware of your surroundings, and do things to mitigate risk.

Hanging around on a council estate in Kilburn, in the evening, in a £100k+ car, wearing a £75k watch, when you regularly posted both pictures of your face, and your expensive toys on Instagram, is not a winning strategy if you don’t want hassle.

The guy in this article is a grade A idiot.

Tip
If one or more assailants are pounding on your head go in low, drive the blade upwards behind the scrotum and rip upwards toward the belt. A wound like that not only drops the one cut, the rest will scatter like pigeons.

As for these acid attacks, one should keep plenty of bottled water in your car. A squeeze bottle is best. Water will flush away acids pretty quickly. but it takes a lot of it.
Wrap around anti glare or sun glasses might offer a minimal protection for the eyes.
