Water resistance - again !!

Interesting.
That's not what the Omega chart used to say.
I wonder when it changed?

For example, the Omega chart used to say that 50m water resistance was only suitable for swimming and this is in accordance with the industry standards of old where the usage was guided by the water resistance.
I can still picture the person swimming on the surface of the water.
Perhaps Omega is trying to up their game.
But let's face it. Who in their right mind would go scuba diving wearing a Speedy Pro, down to a depth of 50m and expect it to come back to the surface ok?

I found the one you mentioned here on the forum: https://omegaforums.net/attachments/omega-water-resistance-screenshot-2014-06-30-09-21-39-jpg.63428/

However, it must be said, that thread lacks the discussion from a quantum mechanical perspective ... i.e. 50m = 50m ... and simultaneously 50m != 50m ...

😗

The "50m" watch is simultaneously 50m above the water and 51m below. Show it a cute catfish photo and it switches from one state to the other.

Why would they name tuna, “Chicken of the Sea”? Is canned chicken, “Tuna of the Land”?

So at last we have invoked the Schrödinger's Catfish paradox.......

And while we’re on the topic: Should you be served “refreshments” before being served “freshments”?

there is a third quantum state which is activated by 'swimming' at said depths ... apparantly the dynamic pressure of moving arms in the two quantom planes wreaks quantum havoc ...

Nice to see a "modern" chart that reflects reality. Citizen still only advise up to snorkelling for a 200m WR rated watch. Errr....sure.
They're not very consistent, because I'm currently reading the instruction leaflet on my new Citizen diver, rated at 200M, which specifically clears it for scuba diving. What model are they advising can only be used for snorkelling?

"The greatest thing since sliced bread."

Not to be pedantic, but mentioning the pyramids and the Great Wall seems odd, as those were before commercially sliced bread...

While sliced bread is pretty cool, there have been better things since, like radio, TV, bikinis, satellites, iPhones....
