Own a Speedy, have 3 Rolex’s and 5 Seamaster’s, a Tag, a Breitling- among others.... this is what’s on my wrist today.

Love it!

Not a snob. I wear Timex, Victorinox, Baltic openly and without shame. I can’t stand snobs of any stripe.

I will be the first to admit I am a tire snob. Cannot wait to wear out a set of tires so I can try the latest Michelins. I look down in disdain when some loser puts Hankooks on his Lamborghini.

As an automotive professional, I agree and support your tire snobbery and disdain for those fools who have the money, but no knowledge or respect for the automobile they are committing sin against.

Sorry guys, Pirelli P-Zero lover here, have had them on my M5 for 16 years (same pair on there actually for the last 8, haven’t driven it much in the last decade). Came with Michellin’s of course, couldn’t stand them when we got any precip...I would just sit and spin. Just like watches and cigars- no brand loyalty- a good tire that sticks is a good tire that sticks.

Too much here to fully address. Some sour grapes in that 1929 Chateau Investore whine. Oui?

Mostly, if you're trying to avoid people who are snobbish about any particular items or who shamelessly show off, you might be in the wrong place. Watch "enthusiasts" are notorious watch exhibitionists. I'm afraid I'm guilty, too.

But if I'm a snob of any kind, it's a vintage audio snob, especially turntables.

Is that an automatic Speedmaster you're wearing? Get a real one.

You and me both. turntables are my thing- had over 20 at one point- widdled It down to 8, 4 in play at the moment. Like watches, the Swiss do it best- and any vinyl freak will know exactly what brand I am talking about.

Years ago my dad gave me a ton of crap for putting Yokahama A008s on my BMW 2002. That thing was stuck to the ground, though. 😀

Mido was actually an awesome watch company-
They rivaled Rolex back in the day for the waterproof wars, and their designs and build quality were stunning. I put them on the same plane with Tissot as a completely under- appreciated value in the vintage watch market. I have a real life and respect for them.

Oh no @Observer , vintage BMW’s and cameras??? Is there a thing that says in order to love vintage watches you must be into vintage cameras, vintage vintage hifi and vintage German cars?? We must all have the same plague

I had a couple of great Alfa Romeos, too.
...now I'm thinking I need some more garage space. 😀

I’m far from a watch snob. I just have interest in a lot of things and I just enjoy learning. If I am a snob of anything, it would be hotels in Las Vegas. I only want to stay in the nicer 5 star hotels when I do go.

No charm in the off strip flea-bags with $9.99 buffet specials, 70 year old cocktail waitresses and Reno reject hookers hanging out at the bar? Ahhh, that what I remember all of Vegas being back in the day.
