I think the stainless steel model 321 will be at the ST1 & ST2 price point - for that you'll get all the stuff you love about the vintage 321 (applied logo, drop chrono hand, maybe even a flat link bracelet!)

You might be spot on... March has always been an important Speedmaster month
In March 1965, after 4 months of testing, NASA's flight safety office confirmed that only the Omega Speedmaster (reference 105.003) satisfied all flight qualification requirements and the Omega wristwatch could be purchased to be issued to NASA astronauts as government furnished equipment.

    So let's aim for #SpeedyTuesday March 26, 2019 ...
And on April 23, 1965 NASA got the first batch of 17 Omega Speedmaster chronographs to be used for Gemini & Apollo
Also let's not forget that in April 1959 NASA officially announced the first group of astronauts... 60 years ago !

The 50th will be at the ST price point, the 321 will be at double at least. If the 321 was only going to be at ST price point they would have put it in the 50th. ;)

There is no Tuesday during Baselworld and don’t think Omega is going to announce the day after the whole shibang. ( who would let all their competitors release new watches first )
The day before ;) #Speedy Tuesday the 19th March we will know all.

Just to do a little .... ::stirthepot::

... the chap in a local AD yesterday said the way he was interpreting the stories that the Omega rep had heard from the CEO's office cleaner's cat were that Omega were planning to use the 321 only in higher end LE Speedmasters .... and the price point should be expected to be at £12,000 or more ...

As of yesterday Switzerland became the first (and only) country so far to agree a post Brexit trade deal with the UK on the same terms as we have as members of the EU!! Of course Switzerland is not actually in the EU so does not have to consult with other member countries.
Hardly earth shattering news in our current situation, but at least we will still be able to buy new watches!
Sorry to go off topic but this whole situation makes me mad, I promise not to mention the B word again.

It seems like the 50th anniversary watch will have a 321 movement then. I imagine it will be very similar to this:

I'd welcome an innovative design but this would be the safe option.

No it will not, as several others have mentioned already.
When we got the 321 introduction @ Speedytuesday Jan. 8 Äschlimann himself mentioned it clearly. Pricepoint for the 321: DSOM level.

The 321 will be a very limited number. Don’t think it’s going into mass production.

It will and it is not limited and it will be put in several Speedmaster, the CEO told us. But due to the complexity of the movement I think the information is correct, that it will not replace the standard Speedmaster movement and the watches with the 321 will be more expensive.

Sounds like you’re right.... code naming it the “Alaska 11” project. More secret than our government’s foreign policies?
